- There are two graphic sex scenes. Both contain strong elements of sadomasochism. Maria Bello is nude and we see her topless in one short scene. She discusses sex and masturbation with her therapist, and is also seen masturbating in front of her computer though she is fully clothed.

- Maria Bello is suffering from a depression and cuts herself frequently as a coping method. She is seen bleeding several times from these cuts although it is not gory. We see a scene where she is caressed with a broken piece of glass and the insinuation is that she is being cut with it, and although we do not see any blood or cutting, it is extremely difficult to watch. A man is hit with a steel golf club and beaten and shown with bloody contusions to the head.
