SWON is by all means a very entertaining game. The game makes an attempt to maintain a certain amount of historical accuracy with the vintage war birds and sounds, etc. However, it also compromises game play for the sake of making SWON less of a simulator and more of an arcade style game.
Therefore, if you are looking for a simulator that features planes from the WWII era, then this is not your game. If you are looking for a fun flying game based on historical events, then this is the ticket.
The missions within the game do mimic likely scenarios that the air combat warriors were likely to engage in, but the overall feeling was very much short of engrossing. Additionally, the game does include some "not so realistic" pieces of equipment for the time period. While this may turn a military game purist off, it does, admittedly, make it more interesting for those looking primarily for a good aviation shooter.

Not very many people purchased this game, which is a shame. LucasArts put together a very strong WWII flying game, probably one of the best available. The graphics are on par with many other games, the gameplay strikes a great balance between realism and arcade action, and the controls are extremely well thought out. In my opinion, however, the best aspect of this game is the music. The themes set a perfect tone, calmer when there is no action, tense just before a battle, fast and moving during combat. There are even different themes for characters, such as a bright fanfare when you win, or an ominous march when your Nazi rivals show up. This game can get old, especially if you aren't a huge fan of the genre, but if you are I recommend Secret Weapons Over Normandy, especially since its been discounted.
Secret Weapons Over Normandy brought back authentic airplanes from World War II. It includes the legendary P-51 Mustang and the Supermarine Spitfire. Next, the missions were challenging,it spans from early days of the war to the Allies' final offensive.Third,it's a great combat game because it help players experience how to master the art of aviation combat. Finally, this game will always be remembered because it showed how the Allied pilots including all the men and women who contributed and sacrifice for the Allied success during World War II.
In conclusion,Secret Weapons Over Normandy is a must have game.Plus, it has full of surprises and memory of the airplanes that were used by brave pilots that helped change the course of the war.
