I had the privilege of seeing this film recently at an all-boys film festival. (I think the intent of the festival was to feature only movies which featured an all-male cast, so I was surprised to see two women in this film--I think the people who set up the festival must not have noticed.)
Anyway, the movie Burying Dvoraks is really good. There's a kid who has a dog that he's trying to bring back to life by rolling it around on wheels and a skateboard. It's pretty funny, but let me warn you, it gets pretty intense towards the end. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think the kid was trying to bring the dog back to life. I think he was trying to... I don't know, do something else.
Really good movie. The acting was really good too, especially the kid. And there's also this really funny guy in a scene at the school locker room--he takes his towel off and whips it around like a cowboy. It's kind of funny, but at the same time, he looks really cool, kind of like Clint Eastwood in his earlier movies (not that Clint Eastwood doesn't still look cool--he's just a little older now and doesn't play a cowboy too often anymore, except in The Bridges of Madison County movies).
I think the director of this movie definitely has a future. I think he goes to New York University, actually. It's kind of coincidental that I hang out at New York University quite a bit. So maybe I'll run into him. Except that I don't know what he looks like, so maybe not.
Anyway, you should really see this movie if you get a chance. Even though it's really short, you should still watch it because, like, seventeen of the nineteen minutes of the movie are really good (and about forty-five seconds of it is credits--I included that in the two minutes of the movie that aren't very good because I don't like credits--but actually, you don't have to watch the credits if you don't want, so I guess I'd say that seventeen of the eighteen and one-quarter minutes of the movie are good).
