Tomorrow sees Newcastle United and table toppers Manchester City lock horns in a game which may have far-reaching consequences for the rest of the league. It is already being called the Game of the Season, because it may well decide who wins the title, and who qualifies for next season’s Champions League competition, and you simply cannot underestimate how much a result would mean to either team.
Will Newcastle take any confidence in the fact that in the five same fixtures which have brought defeat for Man City they have picked up 9 points of the 12 available (Everton away will round out the season for the Toon)? Will Man City, with probably the finest goalkeeper in the league (according to the Pfa anyway), be able to stop the potent attacking threat of Senegalese hitman Papiss Cisse and his two partners in crime Demba Ba and Hatem Ben Arfa?
Let’s hope so.
