Bruce gets the idea to forge Adelaide's checks when she is writing one to pay a bill and asks him to mail it for her. The check number is 252 and the date is Feb 25, 1964. Later, when she's looking at the forged checks from her bank, one of them is number 250 with the date Aug 28 of the same year. For this to work out logically, the forged check should have had a number higher than 252, not lower.

When Adelaide is looking through the canceled checks, the check numbers are duplicated and out of order with the dates:

Feb. 1964 - $250.00 - 252

Aug. 15, 1964 - $1200.00 - 250

Aug. 28, 1964 - $1850.00 - 252

Both Aunt Addie and the cat should have passed out in the airtight safe. A house cat's respiratory rate is higher than that of a human and this cat was on the floor, where more carbon dioxide would accumulate. This is because CO2 is heavier than either oxygen or nitrogen. The cat appeared wholly unaffected by the end of the ordeal.

Address on Adelaide Snow's check shows 199 Central Park West. When Hillary comes to pick her up, the address by the door is 615.
