Gets the job done
Peter (Peter Waves) is a blond twink looking for work. Having just left a job slinging drinks at a West Hollywood gay bar, he sees a sign in a machinist's window and for some reason decides it's the career pivot he's looking for. As it turns out, however, metalwork is the last thing on these guys' minds, and Peter finds his WeHo-gleaned skillset let him to bring quite a bit to the table (and floor, and couch, and...)
When I think Sid Roth, what generally comes to mind is incompetent gay hardcore programmers like THE GREEK CONNECTION and CUMING OF AGE. HARD MEN basically keeps up the tradition, offering exactly 0% plot mixed with a bevy of (largely) indifferently photographed sex scenes. That any eroticism results is a miracle largely attributable to the cast. Shouldering a huge amount of the burden is Waves, participating in four (4!) of the film's six scenes. Blessed with a perfectly toned, lithe young figure, it's a pleasure to watch him get manhandled by a succession of burlier studs throughout the film. Among them is Mike DeMarco, heartbreaker fantasy chevalier from the mysterious Anthony S.'s IN THE HEAT OF THE KNIGHT, not nearly as distinctive here without his flowing locks but still delivering the goods in one of the movie's more engaged sex scenes. Latino stud Michael Pacheco provides some welcome variety, engaging in a hot nooner with fellow machinist Tom (T. J.) and looking very sexy in striped tube socks. Final encounter finds young Peter putting in some OT with payroll clerk Zach (actor is credited by the same mononym), in the film's second most passionately shot encounter. It finishes this all-sex opus on a high note, just as, at 75 minutes, it begins to risk wearing out its welcome.
