Extremely silly Thai musical comedy
colettesplace17 December 2004
This is a very silly Thai musical comedy featuring a cute transvestite secret agent, Iron Pussy, who falls in love with a no-good man while on the case.

Nothing about Iron Pussy works, but that's probably the point. The plot is as Z-grade as any Asian soap opera (like Australia's Neighbours, but more over-the-top), and features long-lost children, incest, lame martial arts sequences and several reprises of the one song – for some unknown reason. It's also difficult to follow the travails of the characters - although no one except for Miss Pussy really matters in this film. However, The Adventures of Iron Pussy is good fun and definitely tongue-in-cheek (or perhaps any other orifice you'd care to name). **/***** stars - a guilty pleasure.

More twists and turns than your small intestine!

Iron Pussy is dispatched to the mansion of a Francophiliac, moneyed "Madam" in order to gain access to the goings-on of Madam's fiancé, a mysterious foreigner whose bank account soars each time he goes abroad and returns to Thailand. It turns out the foreigner, "Odd," is in cohoots with Madam's son and creating a new narcotic that works like truth serum. Iron Pussy must stop the crime, and sort out her feelings for the son, while keeping up her disguise and trying not to get even more on the bad side of the crotchety head maid. It doesn't get much campier than this - a great exercise in suspension of disbelief. This movie is a romp in stiletto f***-me boots through a mountain village in Thailand and the fact that the protagonist is a transvestite has nothing to do with the plot - including the fact that s/he's the twin sister of the evil villain. Don't expect great editing or production quality, but expect to laugh yourself silly. There's even singing and dancing... and a strong anti-drug message. Fun for the whole family, this one!
