Casting director Russell Boast, producer Annabelle K. Frost, producer Nana Greenwald, writer-director Tamar Halpern, animator David Kuhn, producer-director Sheldon Larry and broadcast journalist May Lee have been hired as full-time faculty at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
The new faculty members have worked on some of the most prominent film and television projects of the past 30 years, including the Harrison Ford starrer The Fugitive, David Fincher’s Seven and Disney’s Pocahontas. They will assume their new roles on Monday, Aug. 28, at the start of the 2023-24 academic year.
“This is an awe-inspiring group of teachers, whose range of experience adds a wealth of valuable knowledge to our already-impressive faculty,” said Stephen Galloway, dean of Dodge College. “I can only wish I’d had professors like this when I was in film school.”

If you turn to the right page, Choose Your Own Adventure is one step closer to the big screen: 20th Century Fox is close to a deal to acquire the rights to the popular book franchise, EW has confirmed. (The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.)
The interactive series, which published over 180 titles between 1979 and 1999, tells adventure stories from a second-person point of view, letting the reader dictate how the story ends. The Cyoa website boasts that the series has been “widely commended for its appeal to reluctant readers.” How will it fare with reluctant moviegoers? Only time will tell.

It doesn’t take Nielsen figures to guess that TV viewership increases when snowstorms hit areas of the country that aren’t used to it, but it’s nice that they confirm it. Pat McDonough, Nielsen’s senior vice president for insight and analysis, tells the Associated Press that the Jan. 10-13 storm, which blanketed a large section of the country including areas of the South, had a bigger impact on TV ratings than any other in recent history. Total viewership was up 8 percent compared to the same days in 2010. With schools closed, it’s no surprise the ages 2 to...

After 10 seasons on the small screen, fans of Fox's primetime soap "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990-2000) can relive the magic without guilt. After all, the date is 9/02/10.
"Chuck" executive producer Josh Schwartz tweeted a fan-made video of a "Gossip Girl" opening to "Beverly Hills, 90210's" iconic 1990s theme. Star Jennie Garth, who was a regular for the entire 10-season run said via Twitter, "Love to the original cast and crew. And the new kids too."
Logo from Season 1 The original hourlong drama introduced us to a slew of stars (and two-time Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank) both past and future, and a decade after the show ended its run, several castmembers went on to other projects. But would they be able to sustain success in their post-"90210" careers?
The biggest surprise -- and possible discovery -- was Swank's 16-episode arc as Steve Sanders' (Ian Ziering) girlfriend Carly Reynolds in the ninth season.
