A one winter day in the City of Warszawa. Many different lives are about to collide with each other. Great movie, atmosphere and cast. A perfect summary of a whole life in one day. I have only one questions: was the idea of this movie based on "Happenstance"? I think it was. The movie "Happenstance" is the English title of "Le Battement d'Aile's Du papillon" with Audrey Tautotu, from 2000. This does not mean I did not like "Warszawa", of course I liked it. It gives a great perspective on todays world in central Europe, specially the City of Warszawa. I haven't been there for quite a while though. Maybe that is why the movie brings a piece of sentiment for me.

Fresh, funny, simply good.

This movie is the biggest surprise I've recently experienced in cinema. I went to see it by accident and it was the best thing I could have done! Warszawa is fresh, funny, very entertaining, but not in a Hollywood style. It has a lot of real life in it but the title might be misleading. Yes, it is about Warsaw, but this Warsaw is mainly the brilliant vision of the director. The cast is great. Especially Agnieszka Grochowska's career is worth following. The movie won last years Gdynia Film Festival and the verdict caused a real storm in Poland. Critics accused the jury and the director of everything that came to their minds, very often without seeing the picture. After watching it I can only say how much the whole discussion was unfair. I strongly recommend Warszawa to anyone who seeks good entertainment in cinema. They shouldn't be disappointed.
