Pretty good for "Home made"
tripleb22126 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Just watched this movie on a religious cable network and I thought it was a pretty good movie for a low budget, local talent, outing. Sure, the acting isn't great and there are problems with the plot. Why are the bad guys so ruthless? However, the overall theme is important and the twist at the end is kind of heartwarming. Also, there are little snippets of humor by a lot of the background actors. Listen for little witticisms and watch for some half way decent physical humor. The story is kind of like THE GOONIES only not as well done. Since this is a Christian film, the moments of Bible reference are fitting and well done. The biggest drawback is in not tying up all the story strands. Some things are never resolved. Overall, it's a film anyone can watch and enjoy. Far from perfect, but not at all heavy handed. Light-hearted and amusing.

Boring, Bad acting, editing, but "clean"
Congressmancory24 May 2011
If you're into films that are so bland are vague about spiritual things, this film is ideal for you.

It likes a spine when discussing God, and wants to be an adventure story without a hint of suspense. More so, we don't care about the characters.

The film suffers from using video to shoot fiction, and producing a first-draft screenplay. The web designer-turned video editor delivers a bland imitation of 1970's After School Special-like stories, whereby the only ones gloating over this film's release are the friends and family of the cast and crew.

There is nothing remotely controversial about this film, but there is also nothing interesting.

Had it been edited down to a 10-minute short, and had a professional musical composer create a score, it could have been competitive at film festivals.

As-is, a waste of time. The makers simply prove they know how to press buttons on their editing software.

Perfect for local church video productions.

Movies like this make "Fireproof" look like Shakespeare.

Awesome Movie!

Hey guys! Excellent Movie, especially for the budget. I loved every minute of it. Clayton, I am expecting to see more big things from you, as well as the entire cast of the movie. John, the cinematography was fantastic and the blocking, lighting and composition was gorgeous.

The locations chosen were incredible. The way this movie was made has left me speechless. The acting was wonderful, and the raw talent of the cast coupled with the great direction of Clayton sure make this movie one that I'll be watching over and over again.

I personally highly enjoyed Sterling, and the simple yet effective plot was great and kept the story moving forward. Congrats to everyone who worked on this movie, great job!!!
