Filthy

A creative, succinct, excellent film. While amateurish in spots (due to a low budget and it's being an initial effort), the cast is excellent and the story is one-of-a-kind. It would be well worth any horror fan's time to travel far off the beaten path to see this film.

I look forward to what the future holds for Lalino and the rest of his cadre with giddy anticipation. More! Encore!!!

"Filthy" is unbelievably bad. Don't get me wrong; I love bad movies-- I'm a huge fan of the "so bad it's good" school of thought. However, to paraphrase Scarlett Johannson in "Ghost World", this movie "is so bad, it goes right past good and back to bad". As far as writing, "Filthy" has dialogue that feels so forced and clichéd, that the actors sometimes looked like they couldn't hide their embarrassment from having to deliver such tripe. The premise is so poorly-conceived that I don't think anyone has enough rope to suspend their disbelief enough to enjoy this movie.

I was bait-and-switched into watching this waste of electrons when I attended a showing of "Brainjacked", a full length movie from the same creative cadre (which turned out be pretty good). Rather than first showing the movie that I came to see, and saving "Filthy" as a bonus for people who wanted to see it, Andrew Allan and co. made the decision to show "Filthy" first. Now, I can see his strategy behind this: he made "Filthy" completely immune to walk-outs, considering that a crowd which paid 8 bucks to see "Brainjacked" wasn't likely to leave until they had seen the feature.

As I sat through "Filthy", I developed a strong empathy for protagonist Dana Diamond. It was not because of the movie itself, but because I walked into that theater willingly, and almost immediately I was trapped, and all I could see was rotten garbage.

The Tampa Bay connection earned this movie two of the three stars I gave it.

...i saw this piece of crap at Chicago's legendary Three Penny Cinema last night as part of the "Chicago Horror Film Festival". It is SO amateurish, ill-concieved, badly shot, and derivative, that one can't help but think that this is exactly what the film makers were shooting for.

Emptying catheter bag on faces, bobbing for scrotum, eating out of a freshly vomited into bed pan, and fingers removed with cigar cutter cauterized with a cigarette...this covers a lot of ground in 32 minutes. I laughed a lot...a kinda neat little Halloween surprise.

this "movie" is is made to sound like a great shock film.

it is not. i was glad when it's 30 minutes were up. what a waste of a DVD. the FX are shoddy, the plot is lame, and the "shock" elements are amateurish and poorly executed. this may be extreme to horror posers and those that are uninitiated in true shock cinema, but i'm telling you, if you are a fan of truly shocking exploitation cinema (ie: Cannibal Holocaust, Thriller, Men Behind The Sun, etc.) avoid this one. you've been warned. it is even lamer than August Underground Mordum. just my 2 cents.

I was so excited to see that my favorite online DVD retailer was offering this so I ordered it right away-and was NOT disappointed! While the film is only about a half hour in length, it still manages to shock and entertain at the same level as "House of 1000 Corpses" or "Last House on The Left". Obviously if the producers had more money, this could have been so much more, but the film was as cheap as the family and that's what makes it work. I found the character "MeatMan" to be quite interesting and intriguing. "MeatMan" is an obvious homage to "Leatherface" from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series and the entire scene he is in plays like the dinner table scene in "House/Corpses". Without giving too much away, I think fans of the sleazier end of exploitation cinema would find this quiet enjoyable and at only 30 minutes, you'll be begging for more "MeatMan"!
