For the first time in almost two decades, the Wayans Brothers are about to reunite for a new entry in their Scary Movie franchise! While there are certainly a whole ton of Wayans' siblings (and children) to keep track of these days, the original trio known by the shorthand of the Wayans Brothers included Keenen Ivory, Marlon, and Shawn Wayans, all of whom were heavily involved with creating the first two films in the Scary Movie franchise.
Of course, the Wayans Brothers (including the prolific Damon Wayans) have appeared in many more movies, both independently and together, outside that outrageously funny horror-spoof franchise. Some of those movies are bonafide classics that rival Scary Movie itself. And while some of the other films they've made over the years may not have lived up to that same level of quality, almost all of them feature outrageous scenarios that can't help but generate...

"Either make your move... or step off!" Tubi Movies has revealed the official trailer for Robbin, a revenge thriller from filmmaker Chris Stokes. This Tubi creation will be streaming on Tubi next month - and it's not even the first movie this year from Stokes debuting on Tubi (he also made I Hate You to Death). Stokes went from being a music manager to working as a filmmaker, directing House Party 4 and You Got Served before going on to become a Tubi regular, creating Tubi movies by the dozen for the free streaming service. In this one, fresh out of jail for crimes she didn't commit, a banker seeks revenge by enlisting her closest friends to help her rob banks and get justice. So another modern day spin on Robin Hood, hence this "Robbin'" title? Singer / actress Serayah stars, along with Erica Pinkett and Lawrence Robinson. This looks extremely cheesy and extremely cheap,...

Dance movies have been a popular genre since the birth of cinema, with exquisite choreography and visual storytelling. Some dance movies have transcended criticism to become beloved pieces of cinematic history. The popularity of dance films comes in waves, with different decades and eras producing new and exciting examples of the genre.
By capturing the wonderful spectacle on the big screen, dance movies have been a popular genre since the birth of cinema, and continue to enrapture audiences today. Though the definition of a dance film has been stretched by the incorporation of other genre tropes, the typical dance movie has plenty of exquisite choreography and manages to tell a visual story through the art form. Marques Houston is being criticised for saying that women his age often come with “baggage or kids”.
The 41-year-old singer and actor, who is married to 22-year-old Miya Dickey, was attempting to explain why he preferred to date women who were younger than him.
“A red flag to me [was] always with a woman that had a kid,” he told Page Six. “Nothing against single women, but single mothers with children are a red flag for me.
“I tip my hat and respect women that are raising children on their own,” he added. “But when I grew up, I never really wanted to have kids.
“I would talk to my dad a lot, and he would always tell me to have your own kids because you never know what the baby daddy’s are about. So if you’re gonna have kids, make sure it is with a woman that never had kids.

After making more than $1.4 billion at the box office, producer Will Packer has gotten into the streaming game with “Praise This.”
The Peacock original marks Packer’s first time producing a movie that wasn’t destined for cinemas. While the new distribution plan might seem like a reaction to the hit or miss theatrical business — or the kind of pivot that would happen after a box office bomb, which Packer has yet to suffer, by the way — that’s not what’s behind the change in strategy.
“Malleable” is a word Packer has found himself using quite often in reference to the current state of moviemaking.

There’s nothing quite like when HBO is airing one of its trademark watercooler-worthy dramas weekly. Thankfully, we’ll get to it experience exactly that and more on HBO Max in March 2023.
The big ticket item on HBO Max this March is undoubtedly Succession Season 4 on March 26. Part prestige drama and part screwball comedy, Succession is about as fun a watch as they come. Season 4 of the series about egregious wealth will find the Roy siblings reeling after trying and failing to take down their father, Logan (Brian Cox).
HBO Max’s other major TV option this month is another weekly release from HBO. Matthew Rhys returns as the titular lawyer in Perry Mason Season 2 on March 6. Season 1 of this period piece reboot flexed the classic TV character’s detective skills. From the look of the trailer, it seems as though this is the year Perry makes his name in the court room.

"Honestly, this whole thing comes as a complete shock to me." What did they do at summer camp?! Rlje Films has released the official trailer for a thriller called Always and Forever, the latest film from the director of You Got Served - Chris Stokes. This looks a bit like I Know What You Did Last Summer, but more of a suspenseful thriller than horror. The secrets of their past are coming back to haunt them. Starring Cynthia Addai-Robbinson as Nicole, with Robbie Jones, Lauren London, Wood Harris, Loretta Devine, Rocsi Diaz, Erica Tazel, Vanessa Curry, and Deborah Ayorinde. November can be a slow month for streaming services. Amazon, however, is entering into 2020’s penultimate month with some steam.
Amazon is really beefing up its TV library in November 2020. Both Community (which arrives on Nov. 8) and Scrubs (Nov. 14) will be added to Amazon Prime this month and in the process complete the streaming trifecta: Netflix, Amazon, Hulu. That’s pretty impressive stuff for both shows. And then on the film side of things, November 1 sees the arrival of The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Twilight, and the Underworld franchise. Somebody didn’t tell Amazon Spooky Season was over and bless them for it.
As for the originals, Alex Rider is the most intriguing TV series here. That is based on the British spy novel series and premieres on Nov. 13 on IMDb TV (which is available to all Prime subscribers). That will be followed by Steve McQueen’s Small Axe series on Nov.

It was announced earlier this week that You Got Served 2 is officially happening. However, B2K member and star of the original, Omarion, has revealed that he will not be participating in the sequel. Chris Stokes is the man behind putting the boyband together and wrote/directed the original movie, which came out in 2004. Stokes is handling the writing and directing duties once more in hopes that they can match the success of the cult classic.
While You Got Served 2 is moving forward, it will not include Omarion Grandberry. The musician released a statement on social media revealing that he will not take part in the project. He did not give a reasoning behind his decision, but he also seems pretty hyped that it's happening. He had this to say.

Guess what? Ya'll ain't ready! For what, you might be asking yourself at this juncture? For You Got Served 2, which is definitely coming sometime this year just as B2K get ready for their big comeback tour, which was announced in late 2018.
You better go get a new NBA jersey, some fresh Air Force Ones, and wash all that sweat out of your old head band. Otherwise, you really won't be ready for this. You Got Served 2 doesn't show us much more than a logo in the first video, but you can definitely feel the exciting echoing off this quick glimpse at what's to come in the very near future.

The requirements for a successful movie mashup really depend on the ultimate goal of the one doing the mashing. Maybe you’re looking to prove two different movies are actually the same movie, so you match them up beat-for-beat like this Avatar/Pocahontas mashup. Maybe you’re aiming for maximum comedic effect, so you pick movies from opposing sides of the quality and genre spectrum, like The Wizard Of Oz and You Got Served. Or maybe you just realized Harrison Ford was in two movie franchises and figured that’s a good enough reason to edit them together.
That seemed to be enough for French filmmaker Fabrice Mathieu, the creator of “Raiders Of The Lost Darth,” a mashup of (you guessed it) the opening scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark and various aspects of the Star Wars franchise. The resulting six-minute short oscillates between convincingly cool and glaringly absurd...

Yesterday, an eagle-eyed Reddit user spotted something very interesting in a recent TV spot for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Life. One seemingly random throwaway shot, featuring a number of New York City citizens looking up at something in the sky, was seemingly lifted from a shot that was originally filmed for Sony's 2007 superhero sequel Spider-Man 3, during a scene where Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man saves Bryce Dallas Howard's Gwen Stacy from being crushed by a crumbling building. While it's likely just a case of the studio using a random shot from their library to save money, this shot has also spawned a crazy fan theory that Life may actually be a prequel to the long discussed Venom spin-off.
This theory first surfaced on Reddit, claiming that Life could actually be a backdoor origin story for how the alien symbiote Venom come to Earth in the first place. Venom is actually featured in Spider-Man 3,...

The film that introduced the world to Channing Tatum stands far above some of 2006’s more cringeworthy outputs, and it was even ahead of its time
The plan was not to write about how good Step Up is 10 years later, honestly, because the plan was to write about the idea that Step Up was part of an early-aughts wave of urban dance movies, wherein “urban” was a euphemism for “skimming off the surface of black culture to give edge to a movie about white people”. The early 2000s were a weird time in pop culture, when we celebrated a lot of trashy stuff that we would rip apart today: Justin Timberlake’s cornrow/bandana headband combo, the not-so latent homophobia in Superbad, the sexism percolating throughout Knocked Up.
But Step Up does not belong in that riff. Because, upon very close inspection on the occasion of this aluminum anniversary, Step Up is actually great.

There's this Roland Emmerich movie "Stonewall" coming out about the riots at New York's Stonewall Inn in 1969 that paved the way for the Lgbt civil rights movement. We discussed earlier how the trailer's cloying feel seems disappointing. Now we have a poster to ogle. I'll be: It does not get better. Now, now: I have not seen this film. I don't know how successfully it will defy our expectations and present an accurate picture of the uprising. But I did have to check multiple sources to make sure this poster wasn't a fraud. Look at it. Look at those ragtag, smiling kids. Is this a poster for a critical Lgbt moment or Six Flags? It's time to rename this movie. Here are the best ten options. 1. Step Up 4... Civil Rights 2. So You Think You Can Disturb the Peace 3. The Sandlot 3: We Play Ball Like a Girl 4. Xanadu 2:...

South Park is about to begin its 18th season in the UK, and despite nearly two decades of episodes, it doesn't show any sign of getting 'lame', as Cartman might say.

It's true: Malcolm David Kelly, who once played the illusive Walt on Lost and the ill-fated Lil Saint from You Got Served, is now one half of Mkto. Tony Oller ("To") is the other half, and together they've got a song you might have already heard on the radio. "Classic" is insanely catchy, the type of song deserving of the Song of Summer title. Is it sad that I look forward to defeating my first monster, only so I can utter the words, "You Got Served!" I know, I know, the movie was terrible, but I will hold on to that phrase for dear life. Regardless of my bad lingo, what's not bad is the ridiculous and over the top nature of Battle Princess of Arcadia's hack and slash combat. The game also scratches that "gimme that loot!" itch, and includes a robust upgrade and enhancement system to boot. You can swap your various party members in and out during battles, which are separated into three categories. Regular battles classify as combat, and have you and 2 others of your team taking on the enemy. Skirmishes are team vs. team, and sieges feature your entire team against ancient enemies, akin to huge boss characters.

For the last ten years, Harry Shum Jr. has shown his gifts for acting, singing, and most extraordinarily, dance, starring in such films as You Got Served, Stomp The Yard, and Step Up 2 & 3, and moving on to his most famous role, as “Other Asian” Mike Chang on Glee.
Unfortunately, he was always underutilized during his time with the show, but still managed to stand out. He still makes occasional appearances, but has moved on to more film roles (he played Booboo Stewart‘s gay brother in White Frog), and shows us reminders of his incredible dancing ability.
Today is his 32nd birthday, so let’s pay tribute to one of our favorite triple threats.

Battle of the Year, which opens in theaters today, is, technically, a dance movie: It involves a scrappy group determined to win back the gold in the Olympics of Breakdancing for America’s first time in fifteen years (we invented breakdancing, and now Korea has the trophy? Not on Chris Brown’s watch! U-s-a! U-s-a!). But it doesn't really deliver what fans of the genre really want in a dance movie. Where is the love story, preferably about a girl who pines to dance, is partnered with a hunky bad boy, and overcomes the obstacles of her disapproving parents/weak skills/jealous romantic rival in order to win the contest/her parents’ approval/street cred? This is the formula that has worked for so many other dance films, from Dirty Dancing to Step Up, Stomp the Yard to You Got Served (in the latter two, switch the gender of the...

The month of September typically serves as a transition period between the big-budget blockbusters of the Summer and the high-minded prestige fare of the Fall. As a result, September releases tend to be fairly modest, and September is consistently the lowest-grossing month of the year at the domestic box office. Even with appealing sequels Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Insidious Chapter 2, this upcoming month will be no different.
