Karishma Kali Kaa

I rated this movie a 6 and I know that is being generous. I loved the concept and while it started out well, somewhere along the way the director got caught up in making sure he gave all of the baddies equal screen time. There is a love angle in the movie that is completely unneccessary and does nothing to advance the plot - but i get it; it was the early 90s and it was almost blasphemy to not have some sort of love story tied in somewhere. This movie could have been been elevated by adding more scenes of amrita. The movie is around her character, so it seemed odd when she disappeared for so many scenes. In terms of performance, amrita is from that 80s-90s school of flowerpot acting where you learn 5-6 expressions, dance on a few songs and memorize your lines in between takes. - however this was one role that she seems to really have put her heart into. I thought her scenes with kaali ma were very sincere and overall she delivers but again, the director doesnt seem to know what to do with her.
