Typical Mithun Flick
ravisinger8630 December 2016
Kasam Paida Karne Wake Ki Directed By B. Subhash is An Action Revenge Drama. Script & Screenplay is Good To Average. Direction is Fine. Action & Dialogues Are Awesome. Editing is Bit Rough.

Udaybhan Singh(Amrish Puri) is Been Appointed To Raise His Five Year Old Nephew Satish Who is Alone Heir Of A Estate, After His Parents Demise. Udaybhan Drugs & Abuses Satish To Such A Extend That He Is Terrified Of Him. After Years When Satish(Mithun Chakraborty) Marries Aarti(Smita Patil). He is Been Murdered By Udaybhan To Gain The Property.

After Twenty Years Aarti's Son Avinash(Mithun Chakraborty) Falls In Love With Leena(Salma Agha) & Decides To Get Married. Aarti Tells Him About Her Past And Finally Revenge Drama Starts.

Acting & Dance By Mithun is Great. Smita Patil is Awesome in Few Scenes. Salma Agha & Karan Rajdan Are Pathetic . Amrish Puri is Evil.

Music Is Praiseworthy By Bappi Lahiri. "Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki" By Vijay Benedict,"Jeena Bhi Kya Hai Jeena" By Vijay & Salma Agha And "Yeh Raat Mein Jo Maja Hai" By Salma Agha Are Best. Must Watch For Mithun Fans, Others Can Avoid.

Better Than Other Disco Flicks
OldisgolD19 November 2005
A search for the director of this film reveals that he made only disco based flicks in the 80s. This one is better than other ones from him. What makes the film really interesting is Sumita Patil's presence. It is she who sets the tempo of the film with the very first scene. She plays a cameo in the movie. It is a usual "suhaag raat" scene. Even in this sensuous outing, Sumita Patil impresses us with her personality. She is a performer par excellence even in such movies and such roles. The plot is based on the usual reveng theme of the 80s. Amrish Puri is his typical villainous self. Still there is a finer tinge to his character in that he has a taste for poetry.

Jeena bhi kya bhi jeena
coltras3512 December 2021
Amrish Puri really plays one evil mama ( uncle) who tortures Mithun to the point that he is mentally unstable and this is because Amrish Puri wants his inheritance. But when Mithun gets married to Smita Patel's character he decides to do away his nephew, and Smita swears revenge by rearing up her son into a karate kicking, disco dancing badass so he can make Amrish pay for his misdeeds.

A standard revenge plot that can be flat in places, but it's mostly watchable and fun with great performances from Smita Patel and Mithun. Salam Agha is quite charming and has the dance moves - the action towards the end is typical OTT Bollywood style, but I liked the songs the most, particularly Jeena bhi kya hai jeena" and "come closer."

Its real fun the disco way!!
artistree23 October 2004
Its the 80s of Bollywood , so what do ya expect?

Its melodrama, dance , music , fun all the way!

The hero, seems to be the Michael Jackson of India & it shows in an utterly entertaining way.Just remember to keep aside any logic whatsoever , grab yer pop corn & soda ...enjoy all the way! Its hilarious(unintentionally) , has lots of dance , music and fun. Basically a revenge story of a kid whose father is brutally murdered and he grows up to avenge ; only as a disco dancer. This is similar to movies like DISCO DANCER, DANCE DANCE etc. but probably more entertaining.

Typical Mithun movie of 80s
silvan-desouza14 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Mithun Chakraborthy became a big star in 1980s through his dance moves(Disco dancer) and his action films. KPKWK released in 1984 when action films were the order of the day. Such themes were seen in numerous. This film's title itself depicts the theme and the story of the film.

The film starts off with Mithun being ill-treated and tortured by Amrish Puri, Mithun falls for Smita Patel(who played his sister in Dance Dance) but then he is killed by Puri and Smita swears revenge, her dialogue at this juncture is so unbelievable and makes you cringe like those days, In this film Smita swears she will treat her son like a rod and make him take revenge, with such parvarish imagine those days.

Smita's son is Mithun again, who is the regular Mithun those days, he dances, fights, romances.etc The film follows the beaten to death story of revenge and holds no novelty.

Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki features a dance sequence called "Jeena Bhi Kya Hai Jeena Teri Ankhon Ke Bina" clearly modeled on Michael Jackson's video "Thriller", in which the ghoulish characters do a synchronised dance in a graveyard. The film has recently gained attention for the filmi song "Come Closer", produced by Bappi Lahiri and sung by the film's actress Salma Agha. The song has been sampled in various (particularly hip hop) songs in recent years, including "My Life" (2006) by Dabrye featuring A.G., "The Medicine" (2006) by Planet Asia, "The Hit-man (Kutmasta Kurt Remix)" (2006) by Create & Devastate featuring Masta Ace and Stricklin (2006), "Saanks Mä Murista Sun Muffinssiin" (2008) by Edu Kehäkettunen and DJPP featuring Stig Dogg, and "Come Closer" (2009) by Onra. Direction is typical Music is decent

Mithun does his usual stuff and does it well Smita Patel is made to ham as in such films, but she carries herself well Salma Agha is okay Amrish Puri is typical rest are okay

Trashy movie thanks to poor acting by Salma Agha and story line
paula198026 May 2010
Starring Mithun was the only appealing part of the movie. The film started well took about 30 minutes to set strong foundation for a typical masala film. Amrish Puri did a superb job as a villain, who in my opinion was the best villain Indian films have ever had. Then there is Samita Patil who's talent is uncomparable. The film however had one big disappointment which is to have actress Salma Agha who played her role very poorly. Not sure what talent director saw in her to sign her up for this movie. I assume her role was only for superficial reasons and not acting talent, which from watching this film I realized is zero.

The film doesn't really have anything new to offer story line was weak and Mithun himself stood out in the movie but weak story turned the movie into a big disappointment.

Salma Agha's second best after Nikaah.
nadkarnisumeet30 November 2020
Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki review :

B.Subhash - Mithun da jodi's follow up to their blockbuster Disco Dancer (1982); Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki had all the ingredients for a wholesome masala entertainer which later became a template for most Mithun Chakraborty hits of the 80s - Great music, terrific dance, pulsating action and a revenge plot to hoot.

Featuring in a baap- beta double role, Mithun da senior is terrorised and killed by his evil mama Amrish Puri. His wife Smita Patil gives birth to Mithun da junior and raises him rough and tough to avenge his fathers death. Thus, justifying the title - Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki.

Mithun da was in top form excelling in both action as well as dance. Bappi Lahiri's music score was perfectly suited for the situation and one song "Jeena bhi kya hai jeena" is a direct rip-off from Michael Jackson's Thriller. Even MJs outfits are copied.

In a surprise departure from her conservative Nikaah character, Salma Agha went ultra glam matching step to step with Mithun da. Her seduction song "Come Closer" is still memorable and remixed upteen times. Undoubtedly, this is Salma's best performance as actor -singer after Nikaah.

Expectedly, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki became a huge box office success and Mithun - B Subhash completed their hat-trick of hits with Dance Dance in 1986. Mithun da fans still fondly remember this dance trilogy with B Subhash. Its my personal favorite too!!

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni
