It was funny though, Huh?
Dr-Faust18 December 2004
When I first saw Gabriel Iglasias on CC Presents, I was worried he'd be yet another filler for Friday night standup. I was definitely wrong. He had me in stitches for his entire act, especially with his jokes about his trip the hospital, his arguments about who is the "biggest" among his friends, and his practical joke on a fellow comedian. Gabriel is a comic genius, with some good voice-changing skills, and great jokes. Unfortunately, his humor is far from insightful political comedy, but that's not what everyone wants anyway. If you want to laugh your head off, this is the guy for you. If you want clever, well aimed political comedy, go find Carlos Mencia or Lewis Black.

In any case, if you like standup, this guy is a must-see.

Gabriel was great!!

I disagree with that guy who said he was ''bland.'' He is the greatest comedian I have seen on Comedy Central. He was hilarious!! The only time I wasn't laughing during his show was during commercials. He is currently on Last Comic Standing, on NBC. He is doing great on the show. He has made it to the last few comics.

If you have not heard this comic on T.V you need to tune in to Last Comic Standing, and check him out. He will probably make it to the last 2-4 on Last Comic Standing. Remember, if there are 1,000 people that say he is great, and one guy that says he stinks, don't listen to that one guy!

Gabriel is the greatest!!

Definitely among the best of the episodes
planktonrules30 July 2008
This long-running show has had its share of good, bad and mediocre stand-up comedians. However, among the very best I've seen is this show with Gabriel Iglesias, a Mexican-American who has an amazing ability with voices and telling stories. While I did enjoy his recent Comedy Central appearance (it's now on DVD), this earlier episode of "Comedy Central Presents" is Iglesias at his very best. Among my favorite routines are the one where he tells the story of going on a roller coaster--which is pretty funny since he is probably close to 400 pounds and he tells the story so well.

Funny, original and very talented. I sure hope to see more from this hot new comedian.

One Funny "Fluffy" Fellow

Gabriel does a great job in his first comedy special that he has all to himself. Gabe made me laugh non-stop with all of his jokes and stories and they never get old. I have watched this special at least 10 times and it just remains funny. He has no problem poking fun at himself being "fluffy", talking about his buddy Felipe and how they get into trouble together with the law or hotel security, or anything else that happens in his life, like riding rollercoasters at Disney.

I first saw Gabe on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and became a fan instantly. When I found out about this special I just had to watch. Now I go check him out at the local comedy clubs when he is in town. He does some of the same jokes that he does here but also brings a lot of great new material. He also is a great down to earth guy who loves his fans, talks to them after the show, messes with them during it and signs autographs whenever he can. If you ever get the chance to catch one of his shows do so cause it will be worth it. Plus you can purchase his CD and DVD.

Now I'm off to get some Choooocccllllaaattteee CCCCaaaakkkeee.

Very Bland
General_G31 August 2005
I've been reading some other reviews about this special and I'm going to have to disagree. I found Gabriel Iglesias to be very flat out bland. Not much to him. I don't think he deserved a Comedy Central Presents. He would have been good for one performance on Premium Blend with that joke with his friend in the hotel. That just made me chuckle. Hes kind of corny and I really hate corny. That hospital joke was stupid. That Disney World joke wasn't really worth it. I don't know what anybody is talking about. Hes not that funny. I'd choose Ron White before I'd choose him to tell you the truth and I'm not a really big fan of him either.

best comedian!

I used to watch Gabriel on All That, and I didn't really care much for the humor. But after seeing him on Comedy Central Presents, I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes. He is by far one of the best comedians of all time! Way to go Gabriel!
