These days, actors often move between daytime, primetime, and streaming on a regular basis. Most recently, stars from The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, and General Hospital popped up in law-and-order-type dramas.

Peter Gallagher is still in Adam Brody’s corner.
The Humane star spoke with People about the Brody Renaissance taking place online right now following the release of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, in which Brody portrays the charming, “hot rabbi,” Noah.
“I wouldn’t go as far as being a proud dad, and I haven’t seen the show, but I’m proud of him all the time as his friend and former TV dad,” he told the publication on Wednesday. “And I’m not surprised at all [of the renaissance]. He’s so talented, and I’m glad he’s still doing his thing.”

[Warning: This article contains descriptions of sexual abuse.] Law and Order actor Jack Merrill has opened up about a horrifying encounter with serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who he reveals abducted and sexually abused him when he was 19 years old. Merrill, who has appeared in hit shows such as Sex and the City, Grey’s Anatomy, and The O.C., wrote about the incident in a piece for People magazine on Wednesday, October 23. In the article, Merrill says he met Gacy in 1978 while walking home at night in Chicago. “A guy pulled over and said, ‘Do you want to go for a ride?’” Merrill recalled. After getting into the vehicle, the actor said, “He pulled over near the ramp of the Kennedy Expressway and asked if I’d ever done ‘poppers’—amyl nitrite. He pulled out this brown bottle, splashed some liquid on a rag and jammed it into my face.” “I passed out, and when I woke up, I...

Chef and TV personality Matty Matheson never thought he would be an actor, much less one on a viral, Emmy-winning series like “The Bear.”
Matheson said during Mythical Kitchen’s “Last Meals,” hosted by Josh Scherer, that he is “very happy” his friends, the siblings (series co-creator) Christopher Storer and (series culinary producer) Courtney “Coco” Storer, “let me into their world.”
“When I was a kid, it’s not like I would have dreamed of being famous or being a movie star or on television. I never dreamed of any of this,” Matheson said in the below clip while promoting his cookbook “Soups, Salad, Sandwiches.”
He continued, “I never dreamed of being here, certainly. But we’re here, and I’m just chock-full of gratitude. Every day is truly an amazing thing. There’s quite a lot of privilege being here and living the life we get to live and...

Prior to "Gilligan's Island" in 1964, Tina Louise was already a long-working actress. Indeed, Louise worked her first modeling gig at the age of two, appearing in an ad campaign for her father's candy store. In high school, she started studying acting, and landed her first professional gig in 1956, appearing in an episode of the TV series "Studio One." She made her feature film debut in Anthony Mann's celebrated drama "God's Little Acre," in which Louise played Griselda, the wife of a character played by Jack Lord. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance.
Louise went on to star in other high-profile film projects, including Michael Curtiz's "The Hangman," and the 1960 Italian historical epic "The Siege of Syracuse," in which she played three different roles. Louise also played the poet Sappho in a film called "The Warrior Empress." In 1964, she appeared in a film called "For Those Who Think Young,...

Love tends to have a very unusual way of creeping up on someone, and Cupid tends to show up when you least expect it to. In Hollywood, life tends to get very hectic as actors are required to spend days or even months working on their craft and filming various projects.

The I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot cast is coming together in a promising way. We just learned that Golden Globe Award nominee Billy Campbell has joined the cast in an undisclosed role. I wonder who he could be playing in the slasher.
Campbell joins a growing list of actors who have already been announced to be in the cast, such as Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Haur-King.
Freddie Prinze Jr. was announced recently to have officially joined the cast, reprising his role of Ray Bronson from the original film and its 1998 sequel. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brandy Norwood are also in talks to return in their roles as Julie James and Karla Wilson.
Additionally, Bodies Bodies Bodies star Chase Sui Wonders is currently in discussions about joining the cast of the upcoming Sony movie. However, who she will be portraying in the film is unknown.

Within days of “Nobody Wants This” hitting Netflix, the romcom series has been the source of viral moments and inspired lots of binge watches, with the Adam Brody and Kristen Bell-led series debuting to 10.3 million views in its opening weekend.
“It’s honestly mind-blowing,” series creator Erin Foster told TheWrap. “I could not have prepared myself — I don’t think anybody could.”
For Foster, whose real life experience of converting to Judaism to marry her husband (who is not a rabbi) inspired the series, the response from fans has been “validating” as viewers resonate with the show’s themes of “love and dating in your 30s, and tying your self worth to a bad relationship.”

For many young Jewish millennial boys, our generation’s greatest onscreen representation was Seth Cohen on the Fox teen drama “The O.C.” As played by Adam Brody, Seth was quirky, awkward, but also cool in his own way, having great cultural taste and an earnest heart. He also wore his Judaism proudly and since Brody himself is Jewish, it was nice to have a character I could feel proud of. In his new Netflix rom-com series, “Nobody Wants This,” Brody is embracing this part of himself once more, playing a “hot rabbi” who falls for Kristen Bell’s non-semitic podcaster, Joanne. However, in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, he acknowledged that his own sense of Judaism was never that strong and taking on this part required new levels of study.

Erin Foster’s new rom-com series “Nobody Wants This” — now streaming on Netflix — pairs Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as a meet-cute couple with one major hurdle: He’s a hip (yet devout) rabbi, and she’s a blonde-haired shiksa. This causes complications in their family and work lives, as the pair discuss love, sex, friends and faith with the easygoing charm that two beloved Millenial actors inevitably conjure. Plus, they’ve already shared the screen several times, including in the series “House of Lies” and the 2017 film “CHiPs.” Brody spoke with Variety about his relationship with religion, nurturing an onscreen spark with Bell and getting recognized as “The O.C.” favorite Seth Cohen.

If you were a teen in the early 2000s, chances are Kristen Bell and Adam Brody held some nostalgic place in your heart. Bell charmed viewers as the bold yet troubled teenage detective Veronica Mars. Meanwhile, Brody won fans over with his portrayal of lovable stoner Seth Cohen on The O.C. Over a decade later, these two iconic characters are back—but all grown up.
In the new Netflix romantic comedy Nobody Wants This, Bell plays Joanne, a sharp-tongued podcaster exploring the messy world of dating and relationships. Brody takes on the role of Noah, a progressive Rabbi searching for meaning after ending a long relationship. The two cross paths at a party and feel an instant spark, despite coming from very different worlds.
Noah still holds firmly to his Jewish faith, even if he adds his own modern twists. Joanne, on the other hand, is an avowed atheist who prefers living spontaneously.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are so beloved from their earlier TV roles — she was Veronica Mars; he was The O.C.’s Seth Cohen — that they could team up in a thoroughly mediocre series and we’d probably still watch it just to see them on screen together. But thankfully, their new romantic comedy Nobody Wants This (now streaming on Netflix; I’ve seen the first four episodes) is very worthy of their combined talents, putting a thoughtful and modern spin on the rom-com genre and letting its two stars shine more brightly than they have in years.

Nobody Wants This is a rom-com without a magical meet cute. It’s about what happens when two grown-ups meet and are challenged by each other and attracted to each other and know what they want. A lot of the genre is “built on the premise of a big misunderstanding and then you run that as long as you can get away with it,” says co-star Adam Brody. , “they know each other, they quickly fall into bed together, and then it’s more of the day-to-day and reality of the situation.”

It’s a well-known cliché to write what you know. For creator Erin Foster (“Barely Famous”), that meant her Netflix rom-com “Nobody Wants This” came into focus during her own religious conversion, which Foster undertook a few years ago when she fell in love with her Jewish now-husband.
“There were about 23 people [in my class] and only three were converting for marriage, which tells you there was 20 very interesting stories going on in that room!” Foster told IndieWire. “And I thought it was just interesting. I hadn’t ever seen anybody explore that area, and I thought it’d be cool.”
While downloading a fellow producer on the latest conversion class goss, they suggested Foster turn her experience converting to the Jewish faith into a docuseries. But Foster was already halfway through the process, so they switched the pitch to a scripted show called “Shiksas.” The original plan was for Foster to star in it as well,...

Welcome to the North Shore!
You have to admit, it doesn’t have the same pizzazz as ‘Welcome to the Oc, bitch’, but I’m excited to be here nonetheless because there’s something refreshing about Rescue Hi-Surf.
In the day and age of countless reboots and spinoffs, we’ve got something Fresh. Something different. It’s something unlike anything else Currently on television. And that’s something to celebrate.

If you come into the pilot thinking you’re in for anything in the same stratosphere as Baywatch (the only true show you could compare this to), then you haven’t paid attention to the marketing rollout, which has made a point to focus on the rescues over the drama.
That’s no shade to Baywatch. I, for one, was a massive fan of the series at one point because it was silly and light, and the bathing suits were cute.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody admitted they haven’t watched the shows that launched each other’s careers.
Bell starred in Veronica Mars as a teenage private investigator who digs into the lives of the rich and famous in the fictional beach town of Neptune. Brody led another California-focused show, The O.C., which saw him portray the nerdy but still somehow cool Seth Cohen, who invented Chrismukkah.
The Nobody Wants This co-stars stopped by the Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard, hosted by Bell’s husband, to discuss their upcoming Netflix rom-com series. During their nearly two-hour conversation, the actors admitted they hadn’t seen the hit, early 2000s shows.
“I’ve never seen any episode of The O.C.,” Bell confessed, while Brody and Shepard burst into laughter. However, she did admit she found the actor cute at the time. She added, “Now, did I have a crush on Adam? Of course.

“Vanderpump Rules” and “The Valley” star Jax Taylor is opening up about his recent bipolar and Ptsd diagnoses. The Bravo reality TV personality shared his mental health update on Monday after checking into “an intensive inpatient treatment facility” a little over a month ago.
“After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and Ptsd. It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a newfound sense of peace,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday. Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's long-awaited Netflix romantic comedy series finally has a title... and a release date... and a first-look photo! On May 15, Netflix revealed the funny and talented pair star in the comedy series Nobody Wants This and all 10 episodes will be released on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Netflix isn't the first to bring the former 2000s teen drama stars together. Bell and Brody both appeared in 2011's Scream 4, though they didn't share scenes. Brody also appeared in three episodes of Bell's Showtime series House of Lies in 2013. However, their biggest connection might be Gossip Girl. The Veronica Mars star provided the narration for The CW's teen drama, while Brody ended up marrying series star Leighton Meester. What a small world!
Nobody Wants This was first announced in March 2023 with Bell attached to the comedy from creator Erin Foster and executive producer Steven Levithan, who's best known for Modern Family.

Hot Priests are so 2019 — this fall, Netflix is debuting a Hot Rabbi.
Given that said rabbi will be portrayed by Adam Brody, we’ll allow it. Brody will star alongside Kirsten Bell in the 10-episode romantic-comedy “Nobody Wants This,” created by Erin Foster (“Barely Famous”). “Nobody Wants This” is one of IndieWire’s most anticipated shows of the fall.
Here’s the official logline: “An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan (Justin Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).”
What a cast!

If there were an Olympic sport for shading Bravolebrities, Tamra Judge would secure the gold medal.
The latest co-star in her crosshairs is one-time friend Vicki Gunvalson, who has been making guest appearances on The Real Housewives of Orange County in recent years.
Vicki was an original star on the hit reality series, but producers now believe she works better, popping in and out of the drama.
In a new interview with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Tamra savagely responded to Vicki’s current contributions to the show.
“She’s a side b—h on the show. She can’t even get a clementine, let alone an orange,” Tamra said of her former ally.
“She can’t get a Cutie, a clementine, or an orange.”
It’s unclear whether Vicki wants to be on the show full-time nowadays, but she does have a lot to say whenever she stops by.

Anticipation was high for “Bel-Air” two years ago, the dramatic flip of the beloved classic comedy “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Kansas City native Morgan Cooper’s re-imagining of the pop culture fixture started as a fan film he uploaded to YouTube in 2019 that generated so much buzz that Will Smith himself jumped aboard as an executive producer. And the success of the first season, not to mention glowing reviews of the show’s depiction of class tensions — and changes like fresh takes on Hillary as a culinary influencer and Carlton as a struggling, undercover addict — beget a second season and now a third.
But the latest installment takes a somewhat greater departure from the first two seasons. Instead of taking place during the school year, Season 3 takes over the summer, placing Will (Jabari Banks) and Carlton (Olly Sholotan) in a country club setting that television has typically reserved for young white kids.

The antagonist of James Gunn's 2017 sci-fi epic "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2" is an ineffable space deity called Ego (Kurt Russell). True to his name, Ego is a narcissist who only sees the universe as disposable fodder for recreating his own image. Ego is a powerful living planet, and can psychically manipulate matter to his will. He has spent many, many centuries projecting humanoid versions of himself around the cosmos, impregnating women and creating countless offspring. Ego hopes that one of his children will inherit his godlike powers, and then join those powers together to terraform the planet they came from. The new planet would be yet another extension of Ego.
Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is initially glad to have found his long-lost father and is astonished to learn that he is only half-human. Peter finds that he does have some cosmic powers, but balks when Ego reveals his ultimate plan.

Falling in love on set is one of the most romantic ways that two actors can get together in Hollywood. Spending hours together and getting to know each other through and through, only to realize that there could be more to their story. Many of Hollywood’s most iconic couples meet in a similar fashion, and Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie were similarly acquainted with each other.

When "Veronica Mars" first debuted in 2004, it came with a hell of a premise. Right off the bat, it was clear that the show about a teenage P.I. was a far cry from the Nancy Drew mysteries of decades past. Veronica is a firebrand, a cynical high schooler with a taser and a mission –- or several. Rob Thomas' show begins with an almost overwhelming influx of mysteries, giving Veronica a dead best friend, a missing mom, and a disturbing date-rape past to reckon with. While rival teen shows like "The O.C." painted a slightly softer portrait of SoCal elites, "Veronica Mars" took a nihilistic approach to its fictional subjects, presenting the rich and famous residents of Neptune, California as corruptible at best and actively horrible at worst.
"Veronica Mars" traded in noir and mystery tropes first and foremost, but it earned cult classic status in large part thanks...

Described as a “musical horror-thriller,” Variety reports today that the upcoming movie Art of a Hit has been acquired by Giant Pictures for 2024 release here in North America.
The film “follows a ’90s rock band frontman grappling with irrelevance. An eccentric producer invites the band to his French chateau to record, where they encounter unexpected challenges.”
“Art of a Hit takes everything we love about the late ‘90s and early 2000s rock scene and jams it into a wildly creepy castle in the most beautiful place on earth: Dordogne, France. It’s funny, scary, messed up and honest — a story about what it’s like to be in a band and the insane fears of trying to make it as an artist. If you love late 90s rock, if you loved being in a band, you will love Art of a Hit,” director Gaelan Draper and co-writer/star Charlie Saxton said.

Chris Pratt became a star almost by accident. After early acting jobs on such TV series as “Everwood” and “The O.C.,” Pratt was booked to guest on a short six-episode arc on a new NBC sitcom, “Parks and Recreation.” When the six episodes aired, however, the unexpected happened. From just that brief time, Andy Dwyer, his goofball of a character, became an immediate fan favorite, and the show’s producers wasted little time in inviting Pratt to return as a series regular for the second season. As the show’s acclaim grew, so did the cheers for Pratt, resulting in his first Critics Choice nomination.
From there, films beckoned as Pratt was cast in key supporting roles in a number of Best Picture nominees, including “Her,” “Moneyball” and “Zero Dark Thirty.” 2014, however, proved to be Pratt’s breakout year, as he moved up to starring roles in a pair of...

Netflix’s live roast of NFL great Tom Brady made it into the Nielsen streaming rankings for its premiere, despite only being available for a few hours of that week. After its first full week on the streamer, it rocketed to the top of the charts.
The Roast of Tom Brady gathered 1.67 billion minutes of viewing for the week of May 6-12, leading all streaming titles by a wide margin (the second-place finisher, Grey’s Anatomy, had 1.11 billion minutes of watch time for the week). The roast also had by far the biggest weekly viewing tally ever for a Netflix special; the previous high was 798 million minutes for Chris Rock’s stand-up special Selective Outrage in March 2023.
The 1.67 billion minutes of viewing for the roast in the United States translates to about 27.87 million hours, or about two thirds of Netflix’s reported worldwide total (42.2 million hours) for the special that week.

Netflix’s Selling franchise, which started with Selling Sunset, is heading to the Big Apple.
The streamer has ordered Selling The City, set in New York City. It is the latest expansion of the property franchise, which has already spawned Selling The Oc and Selling Tampa.
The show is one of a number of new orders at Netflix, which has also greenlit competition series Building The Band and Battle Camp. The shows were revealed by new reality boss Jeff Gaspin, who spoke to Deadline about its overall unscripted strategy.
Selling The City follows agents at real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman as they navigate the cutthroat world of luxury real estate in New York City.
It comes from Adam Divello and his Done and Done Productions, which is behind Selling Sunset and Selling The Oc as well as Selling Tampa. The Hills creator Divello exec produces alongside Skyler Wakil, Chris Cullen and Kris Lindquist.
