Something Fishy

A lobster tries to eat some seafood, then a fish tries to eat the lobster, then a shark tries to eat the fish and the friends of that fish want to eat the shark. This is the story of 'Something Fishy', a very nice animated short.

Although this is definitely not something from Pixar Animation Studios or from DreamWorks Animation, therefore definitely no 'Finding Nemo' or 'Shark Tale', it does look pretty good. You would almost think Pixar found the inspiration for the shark from this short, although that is pretty unlikely. The funny moments are pretty good. As with most animated shorts the ending gives us the biggest laugh.

Something Fishy was quite good but there was nothing great. The story is slight, I would have liked it to have been longer and the design for the shark is one of the uglier ones I've seen. The rest of the animation though is quite decent especially the backgrounds, the music is jaunty and pretty dynamic and the short is quite funny especially the ending. The characters don't really have the heart I would have liked, if the short were longer this could have been improved, but they are appealing enough.

Overall, quite good but at the end of the day there was nothing entirely exceptional about it. If I were asked whether I recommended it or not, I'd say yes but just. 7/10 Bethany Cox
