This picture has not been transferred to a digital master. The version here is of low image quality. It was made in the day of pencil animation, hand traced to clear acetate and photographed drawing by drawing onto 35mm film. The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia sponsored the film. It was also picked up by the California School System, and probably screened on VHS tape. It was made as a working film to save lives of school children who were poorly instructed by their parents and had to rely on a motion picture to instruct them as to the rules of the road, and looking both ways before crossing a street. In the 18th and 19th centuries thousands of children died in road accidents simply because films like HOORAY FOR SANDBOX LAND were unavailable to them.
