Jewel and Melissa Etheridge will be going on tour together this year.
Last Tuesday, the 90s icons announced their upcoming tour, which will have them go around the country to make stops in cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles and St. Augustine, Florida.
The tour will last through most of the summer and it won’t end there, as it will continue through the beginning weeks of fall.
They are scheduled to kick off on July 11 in Bonner, Montana, and end in Rogers, Arkansas, on October 5.
The last time Jewel was on stage was last September in Lincoln, California. Etheridge, on the other hand, is currently preparing for her “I’m Not Broken” Tour, which begins in March and ends in April.
In December last year, Jewel and newly divorced Kevin Costner sparked dating rumors when they were spotted in the Virgin Islands.

Michael Rapaport had never sung in public until “The Masked Singer.” Now, he can’t stop. Rapaport was unmasked on Wednesday as the Pickle, the latest costumed celebrity to go home on the hit Fox unscripted series.
“I was nervous about it. I have never sang publicly before. I am not a singer. I’m not a dancer,” Rapaport told Variety. “But the world soon found out that I have the voice of an angel. My singing and my voice brings tears of joy. And I had a lot of fun doing the show. I came to win. Unfortunately, I didn’t win this season, but you know the impression of the Pickle will live on forever!”
No one guessed Rapaport, who sang Weezer’s “Beverly Hills” this week.

Once again, 10 promising directors are making their way to Karlovy Vary Film Festival thanks to European Film Promotion’s Future Frames – Generation Next of European Cinema initiative, ready to burst onto the international film scene.
“Over the past few years, we have established a reliable label with Future Frames,” says Sonja Heinen, Efp’s managing director, adding that the goals have remained the same: spotlighting talent, creating visibility for the emerging directors, and helping them access the market.
“Being selected gives them a certain stamp of approval. They get a platform to exchange and experience, and are equipped with coaching which they can use later in their career,” adds Nora Goldstein, project director.
Polish director Agnieszka Smoczyńska, behind Sundance award-winner “The Lure” and Cannes title “Silent Twins,” is this year’s mentor.

Though a winner still hadn't officially been named in Iowa's Democratic caucuses, that didn't stop Hillary Clinton from seemingly declaring victory as her neck and neck battle with rival Bernie Sanders drew to a close Monday night. The former secretary of state took the stage to address her supporters and breathe "a big sigh of relief," despite a narrow margin of victory. NBC News reported that Clinton was marked as the "apparent winner" by the Iowa Democratic Party Chair, but Sanders has yet to concede to the former secretary of state in the "historically close" race. Remember those visualisation features for Windows Media Player and Winamp where waves and lines of colour would undulate and dance to the beat of whatever music you were listening to? That is pretty much what playing Pixel Pi Games’ Pulse feels like; like being inside one of those visual add-ons.
Pulse is what happens when you take a first-person narrative and remove the most fundamental element of it (in this case, vision) to create something new. Funded through Kickstarter, it’s a story that puts you in the body of Eva, a blind girl who has learned to ‘see’ using sound.
As you move through the world, sounds resonate around and bounce back a colourful interpretation of the landscape around you, allowing you to traverse with relative ease. Along the way you encounter a strange black bird that imparts warnings and cryptic messages that relate to the game’s story...

Scott Glenn has spent 35-plus years playing the toughest of tough men. Since his breakthrough performance as John Travolta's rival in "Urban Cowboy," he's played astronauts ("The Right Stuff"), cowboys ("Silverado"), vengeful bodyguards (the original "Man on Fire"), submarine commanders ("The Hunt For Red October") and FBI agents ("The Silence of the Lambs"), among other jobs, always looking lean, weathered, and alert of everything around him. With rare exceptions — a "Monk" two-parter years ago, a handful of TV movies — he's played all these roles on the big screen. His career started in television (his first two screen credits were minor guest spots on "The Patty Duke Show"), but unlike many of his contemporaries, Glenn never tried to take a regular TV job as he got older. Then last year, he agreed — with some reluctance — to play Kevin Garvey Sr., the possibly-crazy, possibly-psychic father of Justin Theroux's cop hero of HBO's "The Leftovers,...

"There is no secret – it is work! It is doing something, it is a natural impulsion," Manoel de Oliveira once answered when asked about what keeps him going. "You see, nature has given man hunger and this forces him to work, otherwise he wouldn’t do anything. We all get hungry, no matter what age you are. Therefore the elderly are not distinguished from the young because they are both hungry. Standing still is to die; that is the point. The worst thing would be to do nothing, to be scared of acting. It would be a mistake to stand still, to not try something.” And while the director sadly passed away today at the age of 106 years-old, he never for a moment stopped doing what he loved. The Portuguese director had spent over eight decades making films, starting with documentaries before moving into features. Some of his early works weren't well received,...

When tasked with choosing a particular horror game from the long and distinguished list, Condemned: Criminal Origins sticks out for a number of reasons. It was one of the best Xbox 360 launch titles, it had a nice CSI-style investigation system, and it let you smash tramps in the face with a brick. All good, valid grounds to recommend the game to others, and yet none of them come close to the one overarching element that everyone who played it will remember.

Fans of The Flash know that the character’s powers aren’t limited to just running really, really fast. The Scarlet Speedster can run so fast, in fact, that he can also travel through time. And while the upcoming TV series on The CW exists in the more realistic and “grounded” world constructed by its sister show Arrow, a new synopsis for The Flash gives a pretty big hint about Barry Allen exploring both the past and the future with his newfound abilities.
Here’s the extended synopsis, courtesy of SpoilerTV:
Standing still emotionally since the day his mother was murdered (and his father unjustly jailed for the crime), Barry was taken in as a child by the investigating Detective West and raised in a cop’s home alongside West’s supersmart daughter (and Barry’s dream girl) Iris. But when an unexpected and devastating accident at the S.T.

Richard Lester’s directing career has had a rather tortured epilogue. His last completed film was the dreadful, unloved Return of The Musketeers (1989), during the making of which his long-time friend and troupe-member Roy Kinnear died after a freak accident. To add insult to injury, the Comic-Con crowd has been burning Lester in effigy ever since Richard Donner’s cut of Superman II was released in 2006. Donner had been fired as director of the 1980 sequel half way through filming and Lester was hired to finish the job. Since the release of the Donner cut, expressing a preference for the original, jokier version is rather like suggesting that Cesar Romero was a better Joker than Heath Ledger.
I do wonder sometimes whether the fanboys realise what an important, highly influential and iconoclastic director they’re dismissing when they’re kicking sand into Lester’s face. Martin Scorsese would certainly correct them (sternly,...

You only need look at the opening scene of A Hard Day's Night, Richard Lester's fleet-footed day in the life of The Beatles, to see just how much of an impact the film has had. As the first chord of the title track rings out and the group evade screaming fans to board a train to London, it's clear that this was the moment the music video was born.
A Hard Day's Night pre-dated MTV by almost two decades, but the channel would probably never have existed had it not been for Lester's beautiful synchronisation of music with images here. 50 years on from its original release, and with a new digital restoration heading back to cinemas, this film is still as fun and lively as ever.
It was Lester's anarchic short The Running Jumping & Standing Still Film (starring Spike Milligan and Peter Sellers) that caught the attention of The Beatles and studio United Artists,...

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t have a deep seeded love for the fab four? How could anyone resist those Liverpool lovelies, with their matching suits, Rickenbackers, mop tops and an ever growing catalogue of unbelievable hooks? It’s possible that before 1964, anyone outside of Britain might not have heard of The Beatles, but after A Hard Day’s Night took international cinemas by storm, there was no denying it – the British invasion had begun, and John, Paul, George and Ringo were the faces of this new pop movement, a new set of idols for teens to fawn over and an absolute force of creatively catchy songwriting. Helping craft and simultaneously critique their cheeky rock star image, Richard Lester’s monumental faux day-in-the-life documentary of the band became a comedic musical masterpiece that set the blueprint for music videos decades before Video Killed the Radio Star set us off into the abyss of MTV.

Enemy What would make this a more interesting release would be an audio commentary, but there isn't one. As interesting as this film is and as likely as I am to watch it again, in this day and age, if you aren't going to give me any added incentive to buy a DVD/Blu-ray that I'm only likely to watch once or twice ever again... why would I buy itc
Blood Ties I did not enjoy this movie when I saw it in Cannes last year, but it has been edited down since, by about 15 minutes or so I believe, which could make it a more interesting watch as it was a film that either needed to be about 15 minutes shorter or two hours longer. You can read my original review right here, though do know the movie I reviewed is not the one on this disc.

Released in the summer of 1964, A Hard Day’s Night, starring The Beatles and directed by Richard Lester, is arguably the second most influential British film of that decade (the first being Goldfinger, coincidentally released the same year.). Why? For one thing, it brought The Beatles to a worldwide audience that was just getting to know them through their music. Secondly, it spawned imitations and knock-offs (The Monkees, anyone?) and is arguably the genesis of music videos—where would MTV have been without it? Thirdly, the film itself was innovative, fresh, and surprisingly funny (those long-haired boys from Liverpool could actually act!).
One of the best things about the Criterion Collection’s new deluxe box set of the film (dual Blu-ray and DVD, three discs) is the short extra, On the Road to “A Hard Day’s Night,” an interview with author Mark Lewisohn,...

Hopefully you’re ready to go back to prison. Orange is the New Black has returned in all of its shower shoe glory (and in its entirety, of course). Since all 13 episodes of season 2 are on Netflix, let’s spend the entire day with Piper, Taystee, Nicky, Red, Alex, Crazy Eyes, Lorna and all the other guests of the Litchfield penal system. When we last left that gigantic cast Red’s lost her power, the Supervisor Sam was a complete jackass and Piper was punching an angel. I’ll be binge-watching and writing down some reactions as we go along, so let’s slide the bars into place and get not-going. Standing still is hard. Ep. 1 – “Thirsty Bird” After a cliffhanger ending and the natural wait between two seasons, all you want is closure. To know how the wound opened at the end gets sewn up. To know what direction the story is heading. Whether...

Eric Christian Olsen, co-star of CBS TV Studios-produced CBS drama NCIS: La, is attached to produce. This Is Me centers on a twentysomething who gets custody of his 11-year-old brother and decides to raise him with the help of his motley crew of roommates. Just one month after they exploded onto the U.S. scene with their Ed Sullivan Show appearance, The Beatles began working on a project that would bring their revolutionary talent to the big screen – the 1964 comedy musical classic A Hard Day’s Night.
The movie, in which John, Paul, George and Ringo play slapstick versions of themselves, captured the astonishing moment when they officially became the singular, irreverent idols of their generation and changed music forever.
Directed with raucous, anything-goes verve by Richard Lester (How I Won the War) and featuring a slew of iconic pop anthems, including the title track, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “I Should Have Known Better,” and “If I Fell,” A Hard Day’s Night, which re-conceived the movie musical and exerted an incalculable influence on the music video, is one of...

Who's that man posing with the Beatles? He's the Hollywood producer who signed the Fab Four to star in A Hard Day's Night before they touched down in America for the first time. He's also the guy who launched the James Bond movie franchise by giving the green light to make Dr. No, then saved it by luring Sean Connery back for one more movie. He also discovered the likes of Steve Martin and Woody Allen on the stand-up circuit and started their movie careers. Many movers and shakers in the entertainment industry are hidden in the fine print and not seen in the spotlight, and now legendary producer David Picker is stepping out with a new memoir – Musts, Maybes, and Nevers: A Book About the Movies – and sharing some Hollywood tales with ETonline.

This year's Oscar nominees are pretty straight, especially compared to the last few years where we had a strong showing with The Kids Are Alright, Pariah and Albert Nobbs. Fear not — we've got a way to keep it gay when you watch the ceremony this Sunday, at least as far as the women go.

Nominated for: Best Actress, Zero Dark Thirty
Queer Quotient: Before she was the hottest new actress in Hollywood, Jessica starred in the indie Jolene where she has a lesbian relationship with Frances Fisher. She also posed for a sensual photo with Kat Dennings in W magazine once.

Nominated for: Best Actress, Silver Linings Playbook
Queer Quotient: JLaw once told The New York Times her mom thought she was gay because she loved painting portraits of naked women.

I'm kind of obsessed with Richard Lester's films, which may be all I have in common with Steven Soderbergh, but at least it's something.
Having achieved an Oscar nomination for the short The Running Jumping & Standing Still Film (1960), shot in a field over a couple of weekends with a cast of friends including comic geniuses Spike Milligan and Peter Sellers, Lester shopped his can of film around and was told, basically, "Very nice: when we want a feature length version of that we'll let you know." Since the film was a plotless, abstract series of surreal jokes, Lester quickly surmised that the phone might not ring anytime soon.
But a fellow American in London, Milton Subotsky, offered Lester the job of making a low-budget pop musical, and the rest would have been history if this had been A Hard Day's Night. But that was two years away: Lester's first...

It’s exactly 35 days (I’m totally not keeping count or anything) until the final of the 57th Eurovision Song Contest in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan which also equates to 5 weeks because I can do maths me. So, to get in the Euro-mood each week i’ll introduce you to five of this year’s entries all linked together by a (extremely tenuous) link as a WhatCulture! Countdown to the big, shiny event.
First up, I know Eurovision has this stigma in the UK for being camp and indulgent where we can never win because of political block voting (i.e. everyone hates us but Ireland) and yes, most of that is correct, although us sending completely rubbish entries doesn’t really help either. The fact is sometimes, if you give it a chance, the songs in Eurovision are actually quite listenable without the rocket explosions and glitterball drag...

There's only one thing more unsettling than watching two out of eight competitors on last night's The Voice receive surprise eliminations at episode's end: watching Adam Levine mumble and stutter for approximately 30 hours before giving simple criticisms. Bad news, everyone: Adam is suddenly the worst! His nervous preambles are so damn time-consuming! Last week I realized that Christina Aguilera often shares valuable insight with the contestants (even if she can't remember their names, as was the case with the wrongfully dismissed Tony Vincent), and now I'm realizing a far scarier fact -- that Adam Levine is worried about not seeming nice. What could be a more disgusting fear? He should focus his phobia on Xtina's stagewear, which -- during her performance of "Stronger" on The Voice stage -- resembled Paula Abdul's freakish, bedazzled ensemble from her performance of "Vibeology" at the '91 Video Music Awards.

Unlike the more traditional craftsmen, though, the four-piece didn’t need hammers and nails, hardhats and bricks, scaffolding and ladders. All they needed was a bit of inspiration, creativity, judgement and a concise idea of what they wanted to achieve. They had these. Now all they needed was a studio, paper and pen/laptop, a bit of belief from labels and fans alike and luck. They had these, also. The result of all these aspects is a band who can produce the most melancholic of tracks yet still elevate you to someplace new, a place reserved for music...

Director Richard Lester (Superman II, A Hard Day’S Night) has been presented with the BFI.s highest accolade, the BFI Fellowship, following a screening of one of his best-loved films, Robin and Marian at BFI Southbank. The award was presented by BFI Chair, Greg Dyke.

Although he'll always be best known as Dawson Leery (or maybe as Mox from "Varsity Blues"), James Van Der Beek has never shied from showing other sides of his personality, whether he was going dark for "Criminal Minds" or "The Rules of Engagement" or engaging in shades of self-parody for "Standing Still" or a series of FunnyorDie videos. Emmerdale – What Do You Mean You’re Not Over Him Yet?
Has it really been three months since Jackson died? My, how time flies. And to the chagrin of a lot of fans, Aaron is still deeply grieving his boyfriend, even though it's very plausible and realistic. Many of them are ready for Aaron to move on and find a new boyfriend. If this were another soap, I would expect Aaron to already be in love again with someone new, as many shows tend zip through the grieving process.
But not only does Emmerdale move at a slow pace, it’s one of the more realistic soaps out there. I wouldn’t expect Aaron to have moved on so quickly, though I hope someday he does. Part of me fears Aaron will never have another serious boyfriend. Though I hope I’m wrong about that.

Branding veteran David Brier shares how Les Grossman (played by Tom Cruise) showed us how a highly unrefined, foul-mouthed Hollywood heavyweight producer can steal the show at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards ... while leaving behind some branding lessons to live by.
