- The relationship between Jack and daughter Rose is emotionally incestuous throughout the film, and occasionally we feel that it may become physical. She seems eager for them to become intimate. At first, he seems unaware of what's happening but does realize his effect on her and asks her forgiveness.
- Rose loses her virginity to Thaddius in her bedroom; thrusting is seen. He holds his hand over her mouth so they aren't overheard. No nudity. She hangs the bloodied bedsheet on the laundry line so her dad will see it. She circled the stain and printed: "just an experiment" as revenge for his girlfriend moving in.
