Dimple Kapdia was school buddies with Akbar Khan. She casually mentioned she would not mind working in Hadsaa in Smita Patil's role. But at the time she was married and retired at home. Akbar Khan knew Rajesh Khanna would be upset if he cast her in the film. So he decided not to go forward with Dimple's offer.
During the first schedule to be held in Kashmiri in year 1977/78. The train in which the equipments were kept, the train met with accident. So the delay started with the first schedule only.
There were stories in the media that Feroz Khan was upset that Akbar had branched out on his own and started his own production company. Feroz wanted Akbar to work under F.K. International. Feroz stated this was false and all the Khan brothers were independent individuals. Feroz believed that Akbar had alot of confident and talent.
Akbar Khan stated 3 years later, Fatal Attraction was released with a similar theme. Akbar stated the makers of that film were inspired by Haadsaa.
Talking about Akbar fondly, Feroz said, "I saw a few reels of Akbar's film Haadsa. He was my assistant in Apradh for over nine months. He left me to do what he wanted. After Haadsa, Akbar will be established as a good filmmaker and take it from me, he is going to become a heartthrob as an actor. He will be the next Rishi Kapoor of the industry"
