Stands the test of time.

I recently had the chance to watch about 50 Gumby shorts.I have always been aware that there was an older version of the show but I am not always sure which series I am watching.Sometimes it's obvious which series it is but not always.Since this site doesn't really help with the confusion, I will just post my review on this one.Even though I am much older than the intended audience of this show, I still enjoyed it.That being said, I have to say that both Gumby shows are extremely bizarre and frequently don't make any sense. One time Gumby ended up in a soda can and when he got out he was in the old west. Then he shot a regular human with a suction cup dart gun and made him run away, end of story. What??Then there actually episodes that Art wasn't involved with for some reason. Those episodes usually make the least sense. The Music Video episode was so strange I had to watch it twice. It's rare when a show that doesn't make any sense is so watchable.Make your kids watch this.

Why isn't the version on DVD?

I've seen videos & DVDs of classic 50s & 60s Gumby cartoons. But now that the 80s Gumby show is not on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon anymore, why isn't this version on VHS or DVD (preferrably DVD)? It would be a joy to see it on DVD video store shelves for once. I mean it was a nice version, and it had the classic cartoons on it when the show started before switching to modern day Gumby. Although I'm not to thrilled with their voices. I even liked the movie although I'm surprised to see that Gumby & Pokey are from outer space (if that's true, then what are they doing up there?), and the fact Pokey, Prickle & Goo are replaced by multi-colored clay music men. Once again it would be a joy to see the 80s Gumby Adventures show (distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures, a parent co. of Warner Bros.) on DVD.
