- In the first episode alone, "Fuck" is used 55 times. Episode Three uses the word the least out of them all, with only 26 uses.
- As the show progresses, the language becomes increasingly severe and so does the profanity.
- Non-stop explicit profanity all throughout the series, typical for HBO standards. Throughout the entire show, "Fuck" is said 2,980 times, and Cocksucker is said 280 times. Words like "Cunt" are also extremely common to hear in the series.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- A woman is seen taking opiates infrequently throughout the show.
- Drug dealing is a minor component to the story.
- There is heavy drinking and smoking. Hard drugs are not included at all.
- Whisky and other spirits are heavily consumed in the saloon regularly. Many characters also smoke cigars and cigarettes casually.
