Don't be fooled by this political propaganda
zzmale5 April 2004
The literal translation of the title of this movie is: The Fire within the Jail Window.

This movie is based on the true story of union leader who led the workers to struggle for their rights, just before the success of the revolution, and it gives a rather accurate description without any political propaganda.

However, audience should not be fooled because the political propaganda is outside the movie: this movie was made in the year of 1958, the era of the Great Leap Forward, and Mao used this movie to make his point: before the revolutionary success just less than a decade ago, the production output was much lower than the current production output, so political movements such as Great Leap Forward is needed to boost the production in order to surpass UK and catch up with USA. This is how this movie is used as a tool of political propaganda.
