Enjoyable, but not one of the best

I have always been a big Winnie the Pooh fan, and while I enjoyed Imagine That Christopher Robin, I consider Detective Tigger, Cowboy Pooh Helping Others, Sharing & Caring and Making Friends better videos. I loved how the videos dealt with themes that would resonate with anybody, and while I loved the title and all three episodes, I don't think all the episodes are as relevant to the title as the other videos I mentioned were.

"Pooh Skies" is one of the more imaginative and whimsical episodes of the brilliant TV series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The writing is as droll as ever, likewise with the characters and voice acting and the music is beautiful. I did revisit the episode on YouTube just to see how it compared with the now slightly scratchy picture quality of my VHS, and I was disappointed at the terrible quality of the picture, that way I couldn't enjoy the animation as much as other episodes of the show.

"Oh Bottle" is my favourite episode on the video. The story is charming, the writing is very funny and the characters especially Tigger are lovable. The voice acting is excellent as well. The picture quality is far superior here, which allowed me to enjoy the fluid, vibrant animation more, and the music is energetic with some poignant undertones as well. My favourite parts of the episode were Tigger's "Water, WATER" when he was actually standing in it and "Write a message on the map...................what does it say, Pooh?"/"Well, I don't know because I can't read."

"Up Up and Awry" is not quite as good as "Oh Bottle" but it is hard not to resist the charm and whimsy of the storytelling. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh always did have great writing and you have that with"My, what a very lovely day! Not a cloud in the sky! Just a- Pooh Bear!?" which I consider one of the laugh out loud lines of dialogue of the show. The animation has a lushness with just one small mistake regarding the end of Eeyore's tail in one part where it was grey instead of black. The music is very nice too.

In conclusion, I enjoyed this but I don't consider it one of the best. I would go with the titles I mentioned in my first paragraph or even the original shorts, which have a little more charm. 8/10 Bethany Cox
