This was an absolutley outstanding film
oboeman4136 November 2002
Catman in Lethal Track is truly one of the masterworks of the decade. though originally produced in Japan, it is almost perfectly subtitled. Catman in Lethal Track has one of the best plot developments i have ever seen. It also stresses good morals and leadership, because Catman heroically saves the lives of innocent people throught the movie. Catman in Lethal Track also contains a vivid and livley musical score- it is un-parraleled even to the masterpeices of mozart, beethoven, bach, and others. All in all, Catman in Lethal Track is a great movie. Scince it's here right on this website you should buy it. It's a fine movie that is for the whole family to enjoy.

COFFEE, CHEESEBURGER, FRENCH FRIES

Warning: Spoilers
This is a series of 2 films. A man gets scratched by a radioactive cat and develops strength and the ability to light cigarettes with his laser eyes. He battles against a group of jungle thugs led by a Satan worshiper with a stick that shoots fire. People run around and beat each other up for no apparent reason while the bad guys talk about taking over the county (Thailand?) and then the world.

In the second episode, the remaining gang attempts to get a nuclear starter, whatever that is.

The films are poorly dubbed, almost to the point you were wondering if they didn't change the film. Guns would fire whenever someone would simply carry a gun, no pulling of trigger required. The martial arts aspect was more comical than serious. The same dubbed noise was made if someone punch the face or a body's soft part. The tales are idiotic. The cartoon front is a deception. These are not kid movies.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, pre-rape activities. No nudity.

Not even worth a laugh.
Morgan-FilmLover10 December 2002
I bought this at a K-Mart for two dollars, and that was money wasted. This film makes little to no sense, and despite the way it was packaged, it is not a superhero film, but in fact a poorly made Chinese martial arts movie. The hero, US Catman, does not make an appearance until a good 45 minutes in, when the only American in the movie is scratched by a radioactive cat and acquires the power to fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes with special effects that border on nonexistence. These powers came from a cat mind you. (best line, his friend says, "What are your powers, can you knock down brick walls, or like matches with your mind?") Otherwise they're appears to be some sort of criminal cartel in the mountains, and a female martial artist who wants to bring them down. I wish I could say more, but I honestly don't understand the rest of the film.

I love bad movies (I own "Backyard Dogs"), but this one is almost uncomfortable to watch.

Phony reviews to pump the rating

This is typical Godfrey Ho Mixmaster of a movie. La la la crap crap as the Bots used to sing on MST3K. It's funny after a few drinks or a toke or two.

Catman in lethal track

Well this is one movie that I stumbled upon. A friend of mine sold me a bunch of dvds and Catman was one of them. The plot seems to jump from one point to another. First we have a guy named Sam who gets scratched by a radioactive cat, thus giving him superhuman powers. Next the plot jumps to a girl who looks like a boy who drives a dirtbike and has a shotgun. Than, the story goes to a group of Asian rebels at war with a group criminals led by a guy with an eyepatch. Sam or Catman, however goes into battle with a priest named Cheever. I found it overall to be an amusing effort to throw a movie together with a small budget. I would recommend it to those who like strange, cheap budget movies. But thats just my views.

Catman!
BandSAboutMovies8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Godfrey Ho.

The Bruno Mattei of Hong Kong.

Making a superhero movie.

It's about time.

Using the name Alton Cheung, this is the story of Sam and Gus, two dudes just trying to chill and discuss Gus joining the FBI. So when they decide to stip a robbery, of course a radioactive cat scratches Sam and gives all the powers of a cat, which basically entails the ability to scratch up all of the furniture in your house and the need to knock over every drink on the coffee table.

His enemy? Father Cheever, a ponytailed religious zealot who wants to start a utopia.

Look, there's also another movie about a girl dressed as a man fighting pirates that has nothing at all to do with this movie, sometimes playing all over the story we came here for. Also, who dressed Catman? He's all in like vinyl dress clothes, like some business guy dressing up for BDSM night at the goth club but he couldn't find the right sunglasses but found his stepson's Cyclops mask and said, "I'll be damned, this completes the look."

It doesn't.

There's also another movie in this series, Catman in Boxer's Blow, and I have to tell you, I don't know if I can make it through it. Trust me, Im going to try.

the most hilarious movie that wasn't supposed to be funny.
gmcgreffery29 February 2004
ah yes, catman.

its an awful dub with stiff voice actors and poor acting in general. basically we have a middle aged guy who gets scratched by a radioactive cat. all of a sudden he can turn his tv ON AND OFF without a remote, thats right fellas, no remote, no buttons, CRAZY SPECIAL EFFECTS EH?

after that, he decided it would be a good idea if he punched a hole in his apartment, so he does.

in the night he magically aquires a black jumpsuit with a sticker of a cat on it, some visor with a plastic dongle in the middle and a cat computer. we dont' see the cat computer, but we can only assume it must be awesome.

this movie is really like two stories in one, you get to watch a bunch of angry asian guys talk with each other, kill people, and swear for no apparent reason. 2 stories in one indeed. catman and the angry asians never really meet.

the ending is simply FANTASTIC

i'd say this film is well worth the purchase price, i found it in the 1 dollar bin at a used bookstore. the cover alone is hilarious.

just buy it if you see it, it'll make you laugh when you watch it, and it'll make you cry when its over...once you realize it wasn't supposed to be funny.

i can't tell you what happens in the end, but i can say that the plastic dongle on his glasses ends up being the most important dongle the world has EVER seen.

Catman is one of the best movie ever.
AlieNvPredator030 September 2002
My friend bought Catman at a local store and ever since Catman has become The Greatest Movie ever made in the history of all that exists. The man who wrote the script for this movie was a genius. The actors were also geniuses in their own way. This movie had me and my friends laughing for months. I mean, this movie never gets old. No matter how many times you watch it, you will crack up every time at one of the characters witty remarks. To finish my review, if you want to see a movie that will make you laugh until you throw up, see Catman in Lethal Track.

For a pint of beer you can have everything...
corywebster867 December 2007
...and everything you shall have as long as you maintain a relatively high alcohol to blood ratio for the next 90 minutes. See, the Catman series was bred through the glorious days of Hollywood tax shelters. No one wanted to make money here, actually profit was a detriment, so only truth survived. I kid, as there is no truth here, only a mixed up story of radioactive cats, recreational baseball players & gunfights.

I don't lie when I give this a 7...though it does take a little helping hand to get there. Turn down the volume, throw on your mix album of choice (mine are "2 many dj's" or "Spank Rock") & rock out. With original soundtrack intact we're looking at a 3.2 or so. Good luck & let me know

Crap in the Best Way
dunedandrew1 April 2003
I HOPE you are kidding by saying that this movie is great. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is fun in an MST3K sort of way... but to actually say this is a good movie in print, well, that could get you sued for libel. I mean, this movie SUCKED in every sense of the word and to make matters worse, it told two completely separate stories that didn't even connect! What was with Catman's secret weapon? It looked like concentrated cat urine! I don't even know what this movie was supposed to be about. Davis Lynch couldn't follow this crap plot. On the other hand, it is enjoyable to watch because of all the bad lines, horrible acting, lame special effects, and the overall guano story. Bottomline: Pick this up if you want a good, cheap laugh. In the words of the great Tom Servo, "Still, it's a better movie than Batman and Robin."

Absolutely Outstanding
coincollector3028 December 2003
This movie was absolutely brillant. I mean it was good and funny. No one could possibly hate this movie. My friend bought this movie for $3 and it was the best $3 ever spent in my opinion. There are so many positives about this movie I don't know where to start. But I give it a 11/10 for greating acting and a wonderful plot. The props used were so realistic looking also. Buy this movie now and you will not be disappointed.

The most amazing thing I have ever seen.
phasetrak7 August 2004
While in NYC one day, myself and my brother saw this DVD in a dollar bin and we cracked up at the cover. He bought it. We didn't watch it until about a week later back in Michigan, where we live.

This is, without at doubt, the one of the funniest things that isn't supposed to be funny I have ever seen. There are so many parts that I think are incredibly so odd... I don't even know what to say.

The man gets scratched by a radioactive cat and gets superpowers. He somehow just has a costume and has a "Cat Computer" that is never shown in the movie. He fights this crazy priest and his minions, who are hilarious.

Plus, there is a second plot going on that literally has nothing to do with the first and never joins up. There is no reason for it. Absolutely none. It's incredible.

It's amazing. If you EVER see this and enjoy things that are bizarre, for the love of god buy it.

This is the greatest movie ever made. The plot is incredible. The acting is great and believable. The script was written with exceptional skill. The action was breathtaking. Everything fit together so nicely.

Bottom Line: If you can get a hold of this masterpiece, watch it and be amazed. You'll love it.

A zenith of the cinematic art form..........ahem
HaemovoreRex15 September 2008
Stalwart of many a previous Tomas Tang ninja flick released under Filmark International's banner and hiding under various other pseudonyms whilst usually playing a sneering, villainous role, Jonathan Isgar (if this is indeed the actors real name) here gets to play the good guy for a change.....and a highly memorable good guy at that! When he is scratched by a radioactive cat(!) our man develops superhuman powers including laser vision and electro/psychokinetic abilities which he puts to honourable use in the fight against crime and more especially against the evil satanic priest, Cheever who is intending to take over the world....or something. Of course, with Alton Cheung i.e. the legendary Godfrey Ho at the helm, this is typically a cut & paste slap up so don't expect to be seeing too much of our masked crusader sadly. Even more regretfully, the film into which Catman's scenes have been edited is a hopelessly mundane Filipino action outing starring hardworking Thai superstar, Sorapong Chatri who as if to further indicate how bland matters in his scenes are, himself looks somewhat disinterested in the unfolding events. Nonetheless, although said factor does admittedly detract from the overall enjoyment level experienced from the film, don't let such scenes of tedium put you off viewing this, for the sequences in which Catman features are truly priceless stuff indeed! The jewel in the crown here is doubtlessly the hilarious, profanity filled dialogue though which just has to be experienced to be believed. Indeed, our hero himself is not above letting off some meticulously placed 'F' words in the face of danger.....or when dispatching of a foe in style! Believe the hype, Catman In Lethal Track is a true bad movie delight and is highly recommended for fans of warped, wayward quality! So good is this in fact, that a sequel inevitably followed although, it has to be said was sadly not nearly as much fun.

Painful
torinhwolf10 October 2004
I'm not quite sure why this movie was made. Even a mediocre film student would have hung his head in shame with this effort. This was apparently two different movies shot at two different times with two different casts, which neither was strong enough to prop itself into a corner to support itself alone.

It wasn't even entertaining which, at the end of the day, is about the only reason that an action/adventure movie is made.

Kudos to the director and editor for having the guts to slap these pieces of film together, although they had no storyline, acting, visual appeal, or even anything in common with each other. Also credit must be given to the company which made the blender into which the film must have been thrown for editing.

Awesome!!!
akcrawshaw16 September 2006
This movie was fantastic, as a fan of martial art movies I would have to say that this film was in my top five. Tas Lehozcky is a magnificent actor I can not believe he hasn't starred in more movies. This film is recommend to any fan of the martial arts genre. ***** also suggest, Catman: Boxer's Blow!! I actually had the honor of meeting Tas once. The stories he told about making the movie and traveling around Europe are amazing, and very entertaining. He also talks a lot about his family and how close they are to each other. We stayed in touch for about a month and then he moved on; he is one of the most free spirited people I have ever met. Tas if you ever get on and read this contact me. I would love to hear from you.

Love, your devoted fans
