This was a great look at Television History
tj-17217 March 2006
This was NOT a movie. It was a special for television that took place on a sound stage in Wilmington, NC. I know this because I was the only actor present that was not connected with the original series. The program was a series of interviews conducted by Andy. He interviewed the other cast members and questioned them about their favorite episodes etc. It also included clips from select episodes as well as home movies taken on the set. present were Andy Griffith, Don Knotts, Ron Howard,George Lindsy, Jim Neighbors and Jack Dodson. The sets used were not the originals. The designer used only set pieces to offer the feel of the show. The program is a wonderful reflection of the people that made television history in a little town called Mayberry.

Andy Taylor Raised Me and Opie too!

I was really disappointed that I was not personally invited to this presentation. I always felt that the Andy Griffith Show was responsible for raising me. I say this tongue n cheek. Had I known of the presentation I would have done my best to attend. I still see the show occasionally and steadfastly refuse to read the book as I don't want to spoil the magic. As an adult I realize I could have done much worse than Andy Taylor. It's good to know the show was fondly remembered by the cast, crew and friends.

Playing themselves, the actors come together to reminisce times from all 8 seasons of this amazing show. A joy to watch!

Reduced a TV classic to a piece of garbage

For those of you who liked "The Andy Griffith Show", and enjoyed it throughout it's run, don't watch the movie. It will be too painful. "The Andy Griffith Show Reunion involves a moronic story about Andy returning to Maybury to reunite with all our favourite characters. Barney, played once again by Don Knotts, has gone from Sheriff to now run for Mayor of Maybury. Opey(Ron Howard) has become the new sheriff and Otus is still drunk. It's sad that Andy Griffith agreed to do this TV movie. With all the characters grown up and moved on , this movie seems quite pointless.

For the Die Hard fans: 6/10 For anyone else: avoid avoid avoid.......
