The cartoon was pre The Powerpuff Girls (1998). Both cartoons are about scientists who create trios of superheroes.
In 1986, a live-action prop of Samantha was commissioned as a co-host of CITV with Matthew Kelly. The prop had a cathode ray tube monitor in its head, that created pixilated facial expressions. was capable of rotating its head, moving its arms up and down and could move along any flat surface.
The prop was also heavily used in the seventh season of the Children's Saturday morning show; No 73. It featured a different voice performer, with an electrical distortion to the voice, and had more of a spunkier attitude. In the final episode of the season. Samantha would get hitched to the spin-dryer; Nigel. Her final screen appearance would see her wearing a bridal veil, while standing next to Nigel.
