Karthik should be commended for his good performance very early in his career in this double role . The good Karthik is the estate manager , the bad karthik (his twin )has been adopted by the estate owner and holds a grudge against his family. He takes to drinking and smoking and is generally evil bossing over every one because of this
The good Karthik and Sulakshana ( Nagesh's daughter ) are very close and wish to marry each other. Sulakshana is cute and petite and shows off her figure in short tight dresses.
When the bad Karthik comes back to India from abroad he sees Sulakshana and wishes to marry her . His friend Silk Smita is always hovering around him in ( what was then ) scandalous dresses .
Her father Nagesh( for some reason walks in a funny manner ) agrees instantly and forces her to agree.
The good and bad Karthik have a fight in which the bad Karthik dies in the former's hands . The good Karthik now takes over the role of bad Karthik.
The rest of the movie is about how he goes about convincing Sulakshana that he is indeed her old good Karthik.
In the end , it all comes to light that Silk Smita is the villain who has poisoned the bad karthik ( how convenient )
The good Karthik and Sulakshana are left for themselves. A fine movie with nice locales and songs .
