Good morning and adieu.

They sentenced me to 20 years of boredom for trying to change the system from within.I'm coming now,I'm coming to reward them, first we take off the TV set, then we take the anti-depressants.What is this?Who can sit and see that thing? You have to be very desperate.I analyse.First of all it is very slow as all soap-operas.Second the script or even the dialogues are too much.Things many times do not make sense, the characters are always so pathetic, the delemas are so without any reason and the cast is undescribable. Why Mr Foskolos? In the 60's you may made sense, probably in the 70's too,but not in the 21st century. So give us a break, because we can take Manhattan, and Berlin but we can take Athens too.And I am not a terrorist.

A five year old child could have written a better script

In 1989 Nikos Foskolos produced two Greek soaps. "I Lampsi" was the first to air and "Kalimera Zoi" followed shortly afterward. What can I say, except that both shows were exactly the same. If one word could describe these shows, it's "monotony".

I honestly don't know how these shows survived 16 years on air. It was even being sold overseas on video cassette for rental. I watched only a few episodes, not by choice might I add, only because we had one TV in the house and my mother would watch it faithfully.

From what I have heard when these shows started they were watched everyday by the whole of Greece. It was Greece's hottest produce at the time. By 1999 when I came to Greece, it was watched ONLY by old ladies and grandmothers who believed the story lines were heart-wrenching.

It's not surprising though when in all truth the characters were shallow, the plot was completely hideous, the sets were all the same, and the only thing it achieved in telling us was that the Greek police force is completely useless. I remember one storyline in particular where the wife of the chief-of-police went missing, the whole police force searched high and low for months and couldn't find her anywhere, yet her husbands daughter who wanted her dead found her the very next day, on a busy road, in the heart of the city! It took about 6 months for that particular storyline to end.

Thank God these shows finally came to an end. It's beyond me how they lasted well into the new millennium.

Mr. Foskolos please enter the 21st Century.

The episodes we are currently watching here in the states on this show indicates to me that the producer and the writers of the show do not like women that have dreams and want careers. They portray all the females as weak and they are only to be married and stay home and feed their husbands and raise their children. Also, why does the producer of this show not like singers and bouzouki players. My husband plays the bouzouki and that's how we raised our children and made our living. Yes Mr. Foskolos, an honest living with singers and nightclubs. I've seen most of his movies from the 60's and 70's as well and Foskolos always portrays people in this line of work as low class. The current episode on KALIMERA ZOE right now deals with a young married woman who has a dream to become and singer and her drunk cop husband can't handle it. She's the bad one however according to the writers. According to the writers the young lady is married and it is inappropriate for her to be seeking work as a singer in a nightclub because it will lower her status in society and will ruin her marriage. If you watch this show it make you ill just seeing all these thick headed people blaming this young lady for ending her marriage and her husband as well cannot stand next to her and support her in her dreams. He says he loves her but I don't believe him. Love is unconditional.
