Redondo Beach, Calif. – She was an actress, model, bodybuilder and even adult film star, but Chyna – Aka Joanie Laurer – will always be remembered as the “Ninth Wonder of the World” during her undefeated reign as World Wrestling Federation (WWF) Woman’s Champion and gender crossover WWF Intercontinental Champion. She was found dead on April 20th, 2016, in her Redondo Beach (California) home at the age of 45.

Chyna was born in upstate New York, and graduated college in 1992 with a major in Spanish Literature. After a stint in the Peace Corps, she jumped around in a number of jobs, while competing in bodybuilding competitions. After joining a training facility, her first wrestling gig occurred in 1995, and joined the WWF in 1997.

History is written by the winners. We know this thanks to centuries of winners that have told us as such.
In professional wrestling, the winner was WWE. Whether or not they were your favorite company growing up – or if they are your favorite company now – of the many organizations over the years that have tried their hand at fame and fortune within the wrestling business, it is the McMahon family empire that outlasted them all and made it to the top. As such, you can expect that they will from time to time do a bit of history writing themselves.
Even still, WWE is often fairly heavy handed when applying the Wite-Out to the big book of wrestling history. While many of WWE’s historical changes are more changes of perspective than they are complete alterations, what’s particularly fascinating about them is that many make changes to...

Before WWE 2K16’s release, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the idea of playing through some of the biggest moments from Steve Austin’s career. Facing off against The Rock at WrestleMania, even playing his King Of The Ring 1996 victory against Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts felt enjoyable and turned out well. That’s a fantastic idea, but some other parts of WWE 2K16 feel a little more barren. Aside from the Austin mode, there’s little enjoyment to be gleaned from modes such as WWE Universe or even the Career Mode.
WWE video games have become annual purchases for many, irrespective of overall quality. It’s almost like a yearly pilgrimage, as older players bemoan the lack of fun that existed in previous titles, and younger ones wonder why their elders are constantly whining. 2K Games have tried to embrace the idea that wrestling video games should be heavy on simulation,...

Once upon a time, the only British stars known in the United States were The British Bulldog and William Regal. The chance to make a name for yourself in the biggest market of them all seemed very limited, and world class British wrestlers instead made it their ambition to travel the world and wrestle full time across the globe, stopping off in Japan, Canada, South Africa and Germany.
But times have changed. The world has opened up and the internet means that a British match could be watched by a fan located anywhere in the world. In recent years, the WWE has recruited a number of British talents. Some have flourished, while others have returned home.
Right now, Paige is one of the most talked about Divas in the world, featuring on Total Divas, Tough Enough, Steve Austin’s podcast as well as being a regular on Raw and pay-per-views.

With each passing year, focus grows stronger on the WWE Hall Of Fame. Officially introduced in 1993, mainly to honour the late, great Andre The Giant (who had passed away just months before), the then-wwf proceeded to hold ceremonies on the same weekend as the King Of The Ring in 1994 and 1995. A one-off event just before the 1996 Survivor Series was the last wrestling fans would see of the Hall Of Fame for close to 8 years, before it came back for good the night before WrestleMania Xx in 2004.
Nowadays, the WWE Hall Of Fame is a WrestleMania tradition, and the whole week of festivities the company line up for their biggest show of the calendar year simply wouldn’t feel complete without it. The idea of an internal Hall Of Fame has been bashed by many, including 2004 inductee ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham, but on the whole, people get excited by the...

This week’s Raw was the last episode before Payback, so we got a better sense of what to expect from the PPV on Sunday night. What was interesting is that it looks like WWE has a full card ready, but they have advertised six matches officially with a couple of others very likely to take place.
Keep in mind that WWE is taping Smackdown tonight, so they will probably make other matches official at that show.
Here are the six matches that are official as well as notes on the others that are likely going to take place.
WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose – It’s a fatal fourway match where the first fall gets the win. A stipulation was added on Raw by Triple H where he told Kane that if Rollins doesn’t leave Payback as WWE Champion...

As fans pour through the vast library of the WWE Network, you’ll see many of the same faces again and again. While more than seven hundred wrestlers have appeared on WCW and WWF pay-per-views, there’s a select group of top stars that have wrestled on dozens and dozens of times on PPV.
Using data collected from CageMatch.net and WCW PPV and WWF PPV star ratings from Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, I’ve compiled a list of the most prolific PPV wrestlers. Also, I’ve included match suggestions covering many of their finest in-ring accomplishments. To be on a list like this you need longevity, star power and a lot of tenacity.
Let’s see who qualified!
20. Mick Foley
57 WWE PPVs + 18 WCW PPVs + 9 Clash of the Champions = 75 PPVs and 9 other events
All three of Mick Foley’s famous personas (Cactus Jack,...
