Darren Jones and Mista Mo should be sent back to the evil planet that they are from.
scoobiedood29 August 2004
This show is the lamest waste of time I have ever seen and none of us will ever figure out how this show could possibly have won a gemini award for their writing. The show is just annoying and lame with two "wacky pranksters" mugging for the camera. Their monologues and opinions and practical jokes are not even mildly funny. Why does the comedy network keep churning out crap like this is it because there are no funny people out there? The camera work is not good and the sound is not also it is like watching amateur hour on some basic small town cable access channel. This show is thankfully finally being cancelled and I know how many people are glad about that but I still want to know how in the world it was made in the first place let alone how it lasted for more than one season! Hey at least it didn't last as long as Bullard though right?

Pretty Bad
wheaton-732-1503732 August 2018
This was a pretty bad show. Not the worst I've seen on Canadian TV or even just on the Comedy Network but it was pretty useless, just a few guys with a camera goofing around on the street. Most of the jokes were pretty bad and also much too raunchy as a crutch.

horrible!

This show was so bad I can't believe it even qualifies to be called a 'TV Show'... all it was was a couple guys who were not even remotely funny, walking around on the street and bothering people with questions and stupid little skits and pranks, and doing monologues that were even less funny than that. I'm not sure which guy was less funny because they were both so bad. It looked amateur, the video was often fuzzy, the editing was really bad, the sound quality was also bad. This was just a very bad show any way you look at it.

Bad

This is the kind of show that you force your self to sit through but then wonder why did I do that to myself and how did something this low quality ever get on TV?

A complete pile of garbage.
gavtav12 July 2004
The Canadian content rule saddens me. Production companies and cheap knock-off Canadian networks get tax credits and incentives to produce garbage such as this.

This show is barely funny, with the same recycled potty humour over, and over again. I just can't believe that from a country that used to produce top-quality, world-class programming, comes this crap.

How many times can you watch some non-funny guy in a pink rabbit suit say stupid things to motorists and pedestrians? How many times can you watch these two people smash and break things?

If it were up to me, the Canadian content rule would be modified extremely, and stinking garbage like this would not be on the air. For that matter, our poor effort for a Comedy Central clone (The comedy network) would be out of business....for good.

Missed the Mark
jgoodhand3 February 2019
This show was a good idea but really missed the mark. The two hosts just were not very funny or witty and it seemed like everything they did was just them improvising on the spot. The show looked really cheap and got boring fast. Still better than most shows on Comedy Network back then and could probably have been a great show with better host talent and actual writers. The one guy on this show went on to host on MTV Live and was better there but still not very funny.

Atrociously Bad!

The Buzz is one of those shows that is so bad you watch it and think "how can the world be this cruel that a crappy show like this would be beamed into my home?" The two hosts (one white guy and one black guy) are both so completely not funny that it's ridiculous. Usually they just go out on the street and ask people stupid questions or act like jackasses and record people's reactions. So stupid.

But the sketches they do wouldn't even be funny with Jim Carrey and the cast of Saturday Night Live from the days of John Belushi, Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd.

The monologues by Mista Mo are especially vomit inducing.

The Buzz is atrociously bad and I can't believe something like this ever made it onto the air let alone got renewed for more than one season!

The Buzz is funny! Really!
hardc0re_nons3nse18 June 2005
I think the Buzz is funny! It is a sort of humor that only certain types of people would like--me obviously being one of them. If you don't like the show then don't watch it! It's as easy as that! I don't like survivor and you don't see me talking about the "Canadian Content Rule", or the American one, if there is. I just don't watch it. That is my advice to you, save yourself from ranting and using up useless finger-muscles and just switch the channel to something more laid-back and cliché. If you'll notice, survivor has the same things over and over again--a couple of people on an island competing for money; there's always a girly girl, coo' dude, and a freaky person who walks around naked. CSI - someone dies, the police find them and they're locked up. O.C - they go out, they break up, they brood, they go out again. So when it gets down to it, really everything is repeated over and over again. Maybe if you can't handle it or it makes you too mad you should turn off the T.V, get off your butt and go out, maybe visit anger management, work out, and you'll find that you do the same thing over and over again. Oh well.

Raunchy & Fun!
dgordon-111 February 2003
I remember watching this show on Cable 10 (Community access channel through cable)in the mid '90s, and I am glad to see that they have been picked up by the Comedy network to get more exposure. The show consists of Mista Mo & Daryn going to different venues like a WWF wrestling match or just out on the street to get people into some zany and funny conversations & situations. The one episode that stands out in my mind was when the guys were on Yonge Street daring people to hold Mista Mo's scrotum the longest for a prize! Mista Mo was dressed up in a satin housecoat & was smoking a pipe. This makes for some priceless and funny TV. I just hope Mista Mo got some digits for all the work he had to do! It's kooky show, but the hosts and their off-the-wall humour are what makes this a little cable show that could!
