Fast & Short

Wow, hold on a minute! This thing goes so fast that is very hard to make an impression of what it is, if it's good or bad. One minute and that's it. It seems like a damaged trailer for a film but it's not. It starts with a man sitting next to a car on a beach, then the black and white image gets very grainy when a woman (if I'm not wrong Barbara Hershey, again working with director Peter Tscherkassy or it's a unused footage from one of her films) rushes to a car, trying to escape of something. And there's a strange electronic music following the strange images and then...end!

Just another bizarre technique in filmmaking that can be impressive if one haven't seen similar things. Good. 6/10

I don't want to get ready for this

Warning: Spoilers
"Get Ready" is a black-and-white short film from 1999 that runs for only slightly over a minute and was made by Austrian director Peter Tscherkassky. It is actually a brief trailer for the Viennale (Vienna Film Festival) from almost 20 years ago. I think it was okay at the beginning, but got worse quickly and turned into pointless flickering towards the end. The best thing about this one is that it was over so quickly. I have seen several works from Tscherkassky and I just cannot really see any appeal in there. Most of his films are in black-and-white and have no spoken language, so this one fits nicely into his filmography. I personally thought this was entirely forgettable and I see no quality at all in here. Major thumbs-down. Don't watch.
