Roger Fan decides to get his penis enlarged. This sets him off on a "quest for length," in which he makes a plaster mold of his penis, asks men and women on the street about its size, compares it to rubber phalluses at a sex shop, consults a sex therapist, a Chinese herb doctor, a urologist, an African shaman, and finally a surgeon. A fantastically entertaining journey, and the film forces us to ask ourselves why Americans are so obsessed with appearances, exteriors, and size? A great film, very enjoyable and educational.

I just caught The Quest For Length at an NBC Comedy event in New York City. This film is hands down, one of the funniest films I have ever seen (and gross). The comedy is crack up funny but intelligent (think Simpsons). It comments upon America's fascination with "bigger is better" and why men and women think the bigger your penis/boobs are, the happier/better you'll be. The lead actor, Roger Fan, made a mold of his penis and carries it around through the film like it's his good buddy. He's hilarious in this film and is just plain nuts taking us though his journey to find out what's the best way for him to increase the size of his penis. I can't believe he's the same guy from Better Luck Tomorrow and Annapolis (both very dramatic roles). His girlfriend, Bree Turner, is hot. I don't think they're really boyfriend and girlfriend since Bree is an actress in real life. But this mocumentary is made so real, you think you're seeing an actual documentary. And if you've never seen a penile enlargement surgery, you're in for a treat. They slice and dice man meat like it's sushi. Grosser than hell but I couldn't stop watching and laughing!

One of the best mockumentaries I've ever seen. Saw it at the comedy showcase where NBC picked it as one of the Top 5 Comedy Shorts out of thousands of entries. Apparently, it was a Sundance film too. Very few films succeed on this level in terms of pure entertainment and satirical social commentary. Seriously, it's awesome. Kudos to the director and his talented cast of actors. It seems a lot of people mistakenly think it's a real documentary - which tells you what an amazing job they did. Heard it was made for nothing, which in my book makes it even more impressive. The last scene is a little gross for my taste, but it's ridiculously funny!
This documentary/performance short concerns a man (Roger Fan) in a committed relationship, who worries that his penis is too small. He takes a casting of it early in the film, and takes the plaster model on a tour. He asks apparently random people on the street about its size, compares it to the models available in a sex shop, and asks various professionals about options for enlargement. One section of interview questions with him and his girlfriend, intercut, was particularly good. Warning: There is some footage (as it were) of surgery near the end that I found impossible to watch.
The star was at the screening on 11/6/2002 at the 2002 Hawaii International Film Festival, and said that it was shot in about a week.

Quite honestly the funniest and most entertaining film I've seen in a very long time. Usually, when I go to festivals, I expect to see a certain kind of film. But this one was so fresh and original it literally blew me out of the water. The filmmaker has a terrific sense of comic timing and does a great job mixing it up with relevant social issues. And the last scene is a real kicker. I can't believe they went there!
