An Irish weatherman had a great sense of humor when a gust of wind took him off his feet during his report on Ireland Am on Friday.
Deric Hartigan, of CNN affiliate TV3 Ireland, was delivering a “Weather Outlook” in the field when the gusty weather almost immediately got the best of his enormous yellow umbrella, as seen in a clip posted by Irish news website The Journal.

Yesterday TV3 announced its spring schedule at the Convention Centre in Dublin. The new schedule sees the broadcaster promising over fifty hours of home produced content each week which includes TV3 staples like Ireland Am, Vincent Browne and Xposé. However TV3's original output is set to increase this year with the building of two brand new studios in Ballymount. Irish presenter Laura Woods will join the presenting team on TV3's flagship morning show 'Ireland Am'. Woods, who has previously fronted series such as Rte Two's 'The Café' and the Sunday morning show 'S.M.S', will join Mark Cagney & co. on the 'Ireland Am' sofas whilst regular Anna Daly takes maternity leave. Most recently she was seen 'The National Lottery Show' on Rte One.

Bosnian war drama As If I Am Not There received three Ifta awards for Best Film, Director and Script for the film's Irish writer/director Juanita Wilson at tonight's Ifta awards, celebrating the Irish film and television industry.
Martin MCCann was named Best Actor for 'Swansong - Story of Occi Byrn', while Amy Huberman was got Best Actress for 'Rewind.'
Pierce Brosnan and Saorise Ronan took home the supporting honours at the awards with Brosnan winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'The Ghost', while Ronan's part in The Way Back earned her the supporting actress honour.
In the international categories, 'The Social Network' won the best international film, with its star Jesse Eisenberg winning Best Actor. Annette Bening took Best Actress for 'The Kids Are All Right'.

TV3 today launched their Autumn Schedule in the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin. The latest schedule, which sees the station aim to broadcast over one third of air time with Irish programming, completes the three year plan to create a new roster of programmes for the Irish channel. The upcoming schedule will be anchored by TV3's daily studio output. 'Ireland Am' - will be celebrating its tenth birthday, and also included broadcasting will be 'The Morning Show with Sybil & Martin'; TV3's recently launched personal advice show 'Midday', which will adopt an all-female line-up with regular guests such as Amanda Brunker, Fiona Looney, Jules Fallon and Mary O'Rourke joining Colette Fitzpatrick; the 'News at 5.30' with anchor Alan Cantwell; 'Xposé' (including new presenter Sean Munsanje) and 'Tonight with Vincent Browne'.
