Sex & Nudity

  • Some women wear dresses that show some cleavages.
  • Bulls throughout the film make suggestive comments at the cows, such as "you need help? Maybe we can help each other!", and "the joker is always wild". A cow replies with "come up and see us sometime!" (a term commonly attributed to western brothels). Most kids would probably not pick up on this.
  • A couple of drag jokes with men in revealing womens' clothing.
  • A man's underwear are shown, which a gang of characters sing about, mocking him for wearing "size XXXXL".
  • According to the MPAA synopsis, this film contains brief rude humor.
  • As two of the cows struggle in the mud, a male character enthusiastically says, "Hey, mud wrestling!"
  • A cow says (referring to her udders) "They're real. So, quit staring!"

Violence & Gore

  • Mrs. Calloway jumps on top of Rico and crushes him. He is seen with several teeth missing and his tongue stuck out. He also has blood on his face.
  • Mr. Wesley is kicked in the head by a horse and knocked unconscious. He is later seen, still unconscious, being abandoned in a train cart in the middle of nowhere.
  • One of the three henchmen of Slim is whacked in the face with a shovel and knocked out.
  • A man is strangled and his face turns red. He is later hit with a hot branding iron. He appears unharmed by any of this later.
  • A train rolls off the tracks and nearly hits a group of people.
  • A rabbit is injured mildly throughout the film as a sort of reoccurring slapstick humour; he is hit in the head by horseshoes, his ears are caught in a wagon wheel, his buttocks is bitten by a cow trying to take out pieces of hair from his tail, he is chased by a drooling coyote and he has a wooden stump replacing a missing limb, among other things.
  • Characters in mild peril (stuck in a mine shaft, nearly drowning, etc.) but no death of any of the protagonists.
  • A buffalo is seen falling from a high mine shaft track to an abyss down below (the buffalo later resurfaces unharmed).
  • Wesley pushes Maggie roughly, making comments hinting that he is going to sell her to a slaughterhouse.
  • Various characters are booted and/or kicked in the buttocks (intended to be comedic).
  • A horse uses his reins to knock guns from rustlers' hands, kicks a few of them and when one pulls a knife, the horse uses the reins to grab his hand and pull him forward so that he can kick him. We then see that this was just a daydream/fantasy of his.

Profanity

  • Mild vulgar humour (belching and fart jokes), some subtle sexual innuendo.
  • Very mild language. Some name-calling slurs like" moron" or" idiot".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Beers in a saloon are present.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A roller-coaster-ish ride may be too intense for younger viewers.
  • Some children may be upset by the idea of having a bank foreclosure on a farm and might need to reassured that their home is safe.
  • A thunderstorm forms and a flash flood races toward the three cows, including a huge wave of water that washes them away. They struggle to stay afloat, but Maggie then sinks below the surface with Caloway saving her.
  • A dust storm approaches three cows and they run away. may be frightening/intense for some younger viewers.
