Sex & Nudity

  • There are some naked statues in the game, Michelangelo carving out a statue of David, although it's half finished. In Alexandria Egypt there are naked woman statues. Also a picture of Leonardo's drawing of a naked man is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Although there's no actual fighting in this game, This game contains violent references in text to Joan of Arc's battle with her getting shot by an arrow and later executed. Marc Anthony and Cleopatra are mentioned that they both committed suicide. Mahatma Gandhi leading a non violent protest against violence and injustice.

Profanity

  • There's no actual profanity in the SNES version. However the word "Gods" and "Godspeed" is used in the game, which was unusual as Nintendo didn't allow religious references during the Nintendo censorship era.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In Menlo Park 1879 there is a store that's called Drug store. A man asks for a Pipe which Mario gets a Pipe item and gives it to the man. Also the grapes item Mario gives to quench the thirst of some men is actually wine. It's unknown how smoking, alcohol, and drug references got past the Nintendo censorship.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This is a homework assignment game which may frustrate many players who don't pay attention to the answers that the game provides to fill out the History homework.
