This series competed against Cutie Honey (1973) for a good time slot. Even though it proved far less successful, Limit-chan was chosen over Cutey Honey because it was more appropriate to a young audience.
After a lock-out, Toei Animation Studio reduced animation costs for all series. And in this series, too, just like for Mahô tsukai Chappy (1972) previously, a large part of the animation was produced by sub-contracting to other studios. In fact, they placed order to a Korean studio for the first time.
