          Great Thriller!!

Another well crafted, suspenseful thriller from Vikram Bhatt!! Once again, I am aware that it is the Hindi remake of the 1992 Hollywood film, "Unlawful Entry", but since I did not watch that original movie, I had the pleasure of enjoying this worthwhile watch. Faraaz Khan plays the beleaguered doctor wonderfully well, and Suman Ranganathan is great and sensual throughout as well. The real show stealer here, however, is the dashing, debonaire yet evil character of Milind Gunaji, who fits his role like a glove! He is one of the most talented, raw, and uninhibited individuals in the Hindi film industry as far as acting ability and persona is concerned. He adds a fiery intensity and psychopathic malevolence to the whole drama throughout, and it is on his shoulders alone that the movie rides to heights of thrills, cinematic brilliance and white knuckle tension. I would highly recommend this one without any reservations. and oh! who could forget the timeless classic song " Yeh teri aankhen jhuki jhuki" that was on the lips of every teenager and youth growing up in the 90s! Wonderful affair.

          Nice but could've been better

This movie is a remake of the 1992 Hollywood thriller 'Unlawful Entry' after the horrendous Takkar. Fareb is a pretty decent remake but it is a scene-by-scene lift from the original.

I wished Vikram Bhatt added some new twists and turns to the plot. He has a flair for doing that. But he totally missed it there.

Newcomers Faraaz Khan and Suman Ranganathan show promise and can unblock a future of prospects before themselves. Milind Gunaji was good too.

Music is very good, especially 'Yeh Teri Aankhen Jhuki Jhuki'. This song is my favorite and I can't go to sleep without listening to it at least once in a day. 'O Humsafar' is also a good song too. Editing is fine and so is the cinematography.

As mentioned earlier, Fareb could've been much better if it had its own twists and turns. I already watched the Hollywood original so I already knew what's gonna happen in the climax. But those who haven't seen the original, watch it. I recommend Fareb to you guys. You'd probably love it!

          Unlawful adaptation of Unlawful entry

          Fareb review :

Vikram Bhatt's first commercial success which was an "unlawful" adaptation of the Hollywood hit Unlawful Entry (1992); Fareb was a finely executed thriller with some melodious music and a fresh sexy heroine to pull in the audience.

An evil cop (Milind Gunaji) troubles a young couple (Faraaz- Suman) when he falls for the lady and will do anything to have her...come what may!!

Fareb was fast paced thriller marrying erotica with melody which later became a standard Bhatt template in the 2000s decade. Milind Gunaji showed tremendous promise in a negative role but sadly, his potential remained underutilized in future. Faraaz was all brawn and thats all. As for Suman Ranganathan, she oozed sex appeal and became the biggest crowd puller for Fareb. The audience at New Citylight, Matunga loved the dusky beauty and erupted in loud cheers during her love scenes. So did I.

          Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

          Disappointing...

Well... First of all I'd like to mention that I had read in some review of this movie "Fareb" before watching it that this movie was a remake of an English movie "Unlawful Entry". But as i hadn't watched Unlawful Entry, so being a thriller genre fan I went for it. But after watching this movie, I was very disappointed.

This movie starts up with a very interesting note. A happy married couple (Faraaz Khan & Suman) happens to interact with a Police Inspector Indrajeet Saxena (Milind Gunaji)who tries to enter their lives by doing strange things. The movie holds viewers' attentions for first forty, forty five minutes or so. But after that, when intentions of Inspector Saxena are revealed, the proceedings become utterly predictable which totally demolish the impact made in first few minutes. There are no twists and turns in the story which are quite necessary for a thriller. I was at least expecting an interesting climax but unfortunately, it was clichéd as well.

Performance wise, all the character did justice with their roles and music was OK as well.

On the whole, Fareb could have been far better if writer had experimented, especially, in post-interval part rather than relying on old stereotype formulas.
