This clever video shows you how rumors can spread like a weed and that they can only be fixed by truth; packed full of laughs!

Junior Asparagus and Laura Carrot learn how easily rumors can be started when they tell one about Alfred. Before they know it, their little story is spreading all over Bumblyburg like a weed! Only Larry-Boy can save the day, he hopes. This video, along with the rest in the VeggieTales series, is full of laughs for kids, but at the same time manages to pack much humor that adults will connect with as well. You will never grow tired of this video!

The REAL Batman (1989) Parody

Warning: Spoilers
While the Fib from outer space was meant to be the parody of Tim Burton's Batman, this one really took the Batman movie very seriously! I love how the opening mirrors the opening of Batman, and how the creation of the villain mirrors the creation of the Joker in Batman. This episode is definitely my favorite out of the 4 LarryBoy episodes as it combines the Tim Burton classic with a very important lesson about spreading rumors. I highly recommend this episode for superhero fans. Even if LarryBoy is a weak hero, he still managed to help defeat the villain in the movie.

Great Veggie Tales Short Film...
MovieAddict201622 November 2002
Spoofing Batman, Larry Boy and the Rumor Weed delivers the laughs we've come to expect from those limbless vegetables. The thing I found odd was this was the first Veggie Tales to not feature Bob the Tomato...doesn't matter, Larry's everyone's favorite, right?

Remember that old cereal motto, "Kid Friendly, Mother Approved?" Same with Veggie Tales-"Kid Friendly, Adult enthused!"

Too weird and too long

Warning: Spoilers
"Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed" is a 35-minute animated short film from 1999, so only two more years and this one has its 20th anniversary. The name of writer, director and cast member Phil Vischer maybe tells you already that this is another Veggie Tale, one of the longer ones actually. The title tells you that the focus is on rumors this time and we have a true antagonist in here: the rumor weed, an initially tiny plant that keeps growing bigger and bigger the more rumors are spread. I like antagonists and I think the weed was probably among the better aspects of this film for sure. But the goody guys were just really boring. And the story, or I should say the lesson perhaps, was not good enough for this runtime either. 20 minutes may have been sufficient. As a whole this was one of the weaker Veggie Tales I have seen, even if it is among the more known. It also lacks considerably in the music department. The songs are just not that good to be honest. It's a shame because I feel the subject is one of the best from the series, thus the popularity perhaps, and it would have deserved a much better take. This time Vischer's honorable approach and good meaning are not enough. Thumbs-down from me and I don't recommend checking it out.
