Those days when filmmakers made such nonsense

There were days when filmmakers believed that rudimentary old fashioned plots which involved long lost themes would get audiences, The year was 1999 when Ajay Devgan was slowly achieving his due after his great acting in Zakhm, Arshad Warsi was struggling to find his foothold, Neha and Mayuri Kango.....remember them? As you get it the story is outdated, it involves a thakur who forces a kisan to drink alcohol and have chicken, the film has even worst comedy set pieces. The entire first half is devoted to establishing the characters, boring comedy involving Arshad Warsi and Mayuri, the flashback, revenge angle, before interval Ajay and Arshad realise there are brothers and post interval in a comedic scenario the revenge is dealt, the same old formula Ajay and Arshad through some foolhardy way exchange themselves with Raza Murad's sons who are the worst characters one has ever seen called Dumb Dumb and Diga. There are some more stupid scenes like the pandit who after getting a shock can only whistle and the entire climax.

Direction is bad Music is good, some songs are tuneful

Ajay Devgan has done such roles many times and merely sleepwalks though he does show some comic talent in funny scenes though he does look ill at ease in some. Arshad Warsi as always entertains in comic role but he was yet to find his foothold in the industry. Amongst rest Mayuri Kango and Neha are okay Mohan Joshi is typecast, Anil Dhawan hams, Ketki Dave though perhaps the same age as Ajay Devgn is alright, this was before her Ara ra days Tiku Talsania and rest are okay

In reality, Taimurs have force-fed beef, broken Janeus, killed Pandits for 1000+ years

In Urduwood, Thakur forces Pandit to drink alcohol, eat dog meat and remove Janeu (In next scene, Pandit is killed)

Entertainingly Great

Hogi pyar ki jeet is an underrated Great Movie. The movie has all the elements to make a great Masala entertainer. Packed with Comedy, Romance, family relationship and action. Hogi pyar ki jeet is a Must see. The music is great tere pyar mein is the Best song of the film and probably year. Ajay Devgan in one of his Best works apart from Diljale, Dilwale and Bhagat Singh. Arshad Warsi is hilarious, one of Bollywoods funniest supporting actors. Both actresses are quite sexy but are long gone forgotten. It has a off repeated storyline about family seperations, parents getting killed and revenge. The movie entertains all the way through. This is a must watch if you enjoy the regular Bollywood Masala style entertainment.
