Not as good as Da Jue Zhan I, II & III
zzmale5 April 2004
The classification of this movie into the docudrama seemed to be more proper, because it really is the dramatized documentary about the second Chinese civil war.

The film crew seemed to be not sure whether to make this production a documentary / docudrama, or a war / action epic, and the result is something less than one had expected:

For war and action, this movie included the more historical events than the simple war series, such as Decisive Campaigns I, II, & III (Da Jue Zhan I, II & III) made in 1990, but the battle scene is not as great as and not as detailed as that of Decisive Campaign. However, for the drama, it is not as great as Chong Qing Negotiation, (Chong Qing Tan Pan) made in 1993, so therefore, in conclusion, this movie series is a combination of Chong Qing Tan Pan and Da Jue Zhan I, II, & III, but it lacks the detailed description like those two had.
