after playing the stand alone expansion stronghold crusader(well sort of the expansion) i decided to play the origional and both of them are quiet good. You face four enermies in the game who each have the name of an animal, theres the rat (the weakest oponent in the game), the pig (third hardest opponent), the snake (2nd hardest oponent) and the wolf(the hardest opponent in the game). In the game you control the management of a castle or stronghold, you build anything from the simple hovel (which increases the max population) to a huge cathedral (were you can build monks). There is a wide selection of military units you can get: archer, crosbow man, knight, swordsman, pikeman, spearman, maceman,ladderman, catapult, balistae, trebuche(sp?) among many others. The graphics arn't super excelent but its still good. This is definatly a game worth getting, which you can buy now in a pack which includes both this and its expansion (which is a great expansion thats even better than this)
