International actor DJ Perry had his humble start in the Great Lake state of Michigan. His early films “In the Woods,” “From Venus,” “Knight Chills” (All shot in Michigan) were low budget horror fare that occasionally brought some mixed reviews but at the same time critics seemed to embrace him as a leading man despite budget flaws in the productions themselves. His career has spanned 17 years and he has performed and produced on a … Continue reading →...

With a mask somewhat reminiscent of Rorschach from Watchmen or Kroenen from Hellboy, the mysterious Dr Savior has been unveiled in upcoming horror film Donors.
Behind the mask of the "diabolical" doctor (above) is genre actor/producer DJ Perry. Earlier this year, we brought you the first teaser poster and some cast pictures featuring Perry alongside co-stars French/Philippine beauty Anne Gauthier and former Bond girl Lana Wood (famous for her role as Plenty O'Toole in 1971's Diamonds Are Forever starring Sean Connery), who is playing a character called Norma.
Paisaen Productions in association with Collective Development Inc has today announced that the Charles Pisaeno-directed horror thriller has moved into post-production sound and scoring.
The film, also written by Pisaeno, is about a troubled young woman (Niki Saletta, pictured below) abducted by a mysterious man known as Doctor Savior (DJ Perry).

Stuart MacDonald started out as a magician - and now he's hoping to conjure up success for his latest project, a horror comedy film called Secondary Heroes.
Stuart (pictured), who lives in Adrian, Michigan, USA, followed a lifelong passion to become a professional magician - The Magic Stu - and has also had roles in cult films such as In The Woods and Knight Chills, where he met and worked with filmmaker/actor DJ Perry.
Recently, MacDonald crossed into directing with the documentary I Want to Look Like That Guy, which premiered at the 2011 Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Film Festival to high praise.
Another passion of Stuart's is horror. He and his wife Lori are the masterminds behind popular Michigan haunted house The Haunting.
And now Stuart has reconnected with DJ Perry to combine his skill at comedic performing - honed in his magic acts - with his love of horror to tackle Secondary Heroes.

And here's why: these two new horror films, co-directed by chicks, fall into two if my favorite sub genres: "survival accident horror" and "game-gone-awry horror."
Just like the "slasher" film, these two types of horror movies can have their own unique story lines and endings as long as they follow a set of rules laid out by tradition.
Dark Sky is releasing Canyon Road, co-directed by Jennifer Still and Calix Reneau, about a young couple that gets into a terrible car accident on the way home from a party. I assume they're in Malibu, California, because the world freaks out when it rains, and dangerous things happen when the roads are wet. But seriously, there have been some vicious mudslides of the killing kind in Malibu, much like the one that threatens the lives of this couple.
Canyon Road might not seem original at first - it's the same psychological...
