The Mega Man games have been known to be repetitive, although that doesn't necessarily make them bad. Mega Man 6, like 5, is pretty much average. Ever since MM4 the game started to get a little less creative, but the lengthy levels and decent challenge to 4 made it great. 6 is just "been there, done that." The graphics are pretty much the same as the rest of the series, and the music is by far the worst of the 6 games. And even though Mega Man has never been known for difficulty per say, this one seems particularly easy. Frankly, there isn't much I can really explain in this game, just play the awesome original, and you'll know what to expect
Mega Man 6 is known as the final Mega Man title for the Nintendo Entertainment System. In this, Mr. X, the sponsor of the first annual robot tournament, takes the top eight robots who made it to the finals in his bid for world domination. Mega Man is shocked as the man says he is the one who manipulated Dr. Wily all this time, although later on, this would lead to a big twist (I won't spoil it for those who are new to the series, but if you grew up playing these games, you'll know what I mean).
If you played the last five of the Mega Man games, then the gameplay is still the same: shoot, jump, and slide your way to the boss, and destroy boss to earn his weapon. However, this one does change things up a little. The Rush items have been replaced with two Rush Adaptors, Rush Power and Rush Jet, which are gotten by beating two of the Robot Masters. Each one turns Rush into battle armor Mega Man can wear. Rush Power allows Mega Man to charge up powerful punches capable of breaking blocks and damaging enemies while Rush Jet allows him to take to the sky wearing a jetpack. These are needed, as four of the Robot Masters actually have a second door that will require these, and beating that door will not only net the Robot Master's weapon, but also one of four Beat parts, which when all are collected, allow the use of Beat. Each Robot Master's stage has its own gimmick to keep you on your guard (Flame Man has oil which, when set on fire, become an instant kill trap, for example). This is a game worth checking out, and has been included in many compilations, the most recent being Mega Man Legacy Collection.

This is the sixth volume in the "Mega Man" series, and it's was also it's finale in it's NES run. It makes sense as this game came out in the twilight years of the system so might as well end things while they could, which I'm fine with. And I felt it ending on a positive note, if not a high one, I'm not sure why maybe but I think mainly it was because once again this was an entry that didn't bring much new to the table.
It's a common fundamental problem with franchises like with TV shows and their long amount of seasons where in the latter seasons you don't feel that same amount of satisfaction like you did in the past seasons, that's usual a sign that a series has lost its momentum and needs to call it quits while it can.
The plotline is pretty much the same old same old, nothing really memorable but the "Mega Man" series was never know much for it's plots anyway, were all in it for the action and it's good as usual. You have all the same features as in the previous games, running, jumping, sliding, mega blaster and the gadgets. There are a few new features, one is the jet pack which is cool but of course like all gadgets you can only use this for a limited time and have to refuel the gauge. Another is a power puncher suit where you can break through certain thick objects and even do major damage to enemies. The levels in the game also have a few multiple paths and secret passages which adds a bit to the experience if not much.
There are a few good Robot Masters that are memorable though not all which is one weak point of the game as a few of them are kind of ridiculous, as if the creators were a little desperate for ideas. But it's the memorable ones along with some of the levels of the game that count the most. Also a few of the battles with some of them are easy and blend together which renders makes a few of those Robot masters a bit lame.
Knight Man: Really like the level as it's a medieval castle theme and of course if you've played enough Mario you know the castle is one big death trap. I like the design of this Robot Master as it's the classic knight armor armed with a shield and mace, only disappointment is he doesn't really do much; at least the level you go though is good.
Centaur Man: This level decently designed as it's a is pretty good as it's a mix of both the ground and underwater, which I strange as Centaurs in Greek Mythology are land based creatures that have nothing to do with water nor can they even swim it. I'm a little surprised they didn't make this level into an ancient Rome setting with futuristic setting combined which would make more sense.
But oh well the level plays well and the Robot Master whom is an honorable mention in favorite Robot Masters like alone I'm a fan of Greek Myth so I thought it was cool for once this series included on of the creatures from that world and fitting for a game of this nature. Like the design as he a robotic version of a Centaur. He's a little challenging, though not too challenging once you know the right weapon and places to stand.
Blizzard Man: Not a favorite Robot Master of mine, his design is decent as it's the typical skier attire and a decent opponent not too easy to beat. But I really like the level, the use of ice in place but the thing that stands out for me is the submarines that you jump on and constantly dive and sub merge. I just thought this was kind of cool as it's a moving platform stage which I always like as they spread up the momentum of the game and action.
I think the real drawback of the game is, I just didn't find it that memorable. From certain level designs in places that feel like so many others from past games just recycled and dressed differently. But most of all for it was the music really isn't memorable, it's really troubling when a video game can deliver the goods except for one crucial one which is good music. Not to say the tunes are bad their a decent listen but it feels like some of them need a little more umph to be memorable.
Overall a solid entry but not one on my list of favorites if you can believe that. If you're a Mega Man fan it's still worth playing, it's one of those entries that are simply there, so I wouldn't expect much as your really not missing much; however you won't expect disappointment.

The Mega Man series is one of the most exciting action video games! The characters, the action, and the sure thrill of excitement makes this game a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!
Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!
Graphics: The graphics are wonderful especially for the Nintendo System! The backgrounds are really beautiful!
Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!
Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!
Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!
Overall: I have always loved Mega Man 6! If you like shooting and fighting action adventure games then I strongly recommend you play this game!

Mega Man 6 is probably the best out of all 6 Mega Man games made for the NES. I really liked the new powersuit, and jetpack that Mega Man can use, and the True Boss/False Boss concept for 4 of the 8 robot leaders was pretty cool. This was the last Mega Man game ever made for the NES, but Capcom did a marvelous job at ending the Mega Man run for the NES with this great sequel.

WUSSTEST DU SCHON:
- WissenswertesOf all the current androids, only two were not designed by residents of Japan. These androids are Windman and Knightman, who were submitted in the Rockman 6 "Make your own android contest", which was the only Rockman "Make your own android contest" that allowed designs from the United States and Canada. The winners are Daniel Vallie, for Knightman, and Michael Leader, for Windman.
- PatzerWhen Dr. Wily appears, "failed" is misspelled as "faild" in his dialogue. This is corrected in later versions of the game like the Anniversary Collection port.
