This is an educational film shown to students in the 1950s. While it's not the sort of film I'd usually watch, it was included as an extra on a DVD with the features CURFEW BREAKERS and FLAMING TEEN-AGE.
The first portion of the film is informational and explains types of drugs and their effects. The information is actually pretty accurate and well delivered but it is also woefully incomplete. The film only talks about depressants (heroin, pot and downers) but makes two mistakes. First, it forgets to mention the most commonly abused depressant--alcohol. Second, no mention of hallucinogens (rare, I know, at the time this film was made) and uppers (coke and amphetamines). As the film is called "drug addiction", it's really surprising these omissions occurred.
However, aside from not discussing the full range of drugs, the film did a nice job of showing the addicts life and what someone might expect if they try illegal drugs. Sobering and blunt--it's pretty good for a cheap educational film.
