Mit dir geteilt
Continuity
When the two brothers are frantically trying to get out of the car because the monster truck is barreling toward them (in slo-mo), Blaine's tongue ring is missing. Odd mistake, as his character is all about that tongue-piercing.
In the single outside shot of the "Fatburger" diner, when we hear Bev saying "Right, everybody OK? You all right..." look at Hitler's car, parked out front: the front windshield, which had gotten smashed earlier, is either missing or intact, because no smash marks are visible.
When the monster truck jumps over Blaine and Duane in slow motion, Blaine's tongue-piercing is missing.
At the monster truck ralley, in the first shot as the monster truck revs up, ready to jump the ramp, look at the huge advert signs behind it. One of them has "PowerBar" written on it, but in the second shot as the truck roars over the ramp, the same sign is now totally different.
One of the bikers is clearly knocking off the rear-left swastika flag, but when the car enters the Veterans' convention the flag is back on.
After Randy gets lipstick on his hand, he smears it on the steering wheel. But when the bikers are attacking them, smashing the car up, in many shots the steering wheel has no lipstick on it. It returns later, when it gives Randy a mustache.
The radar tower should be spinning. that type of radar is directional and has to constantly be in motion, otherwise, it would only "see" planes out in a straight line in whatever direction it is pointing.
A real hot-air balloon will drop from the sky very rapidly if nobody is there to supply the hot air.
When the State Trooper runs out of gas the sirens die out, this would not happen. The lights and sirens have nothing to do with gas, only the battery.
When the rocket car passes the desert gas station, demolishing it with its sonic boom, the station owner inadvertently fires his pistol and the bullet catches the car and briefly can been seen pacing the car from the cockpit. This would be impossible for two reasons. First, a pistol of this type fires a subsonic bullet, which would be unable to catch the car to begin with, and it would either have to slow down or the car continue to accelerate for it to remain relatively stationary outside the window. Secondly, the bullet would have had to pass through the starboard engine of the car to arrive at the position it is seen.
Immediately after Vera and Merrill first meet, Merrill receives a phone call during which she states that some merchandise must ship immediately to get in stores by Mother's Day. Since Mother's Day in the USA always falls in mid-May, this film must take place in April or possibly early May--which is inconsistent with the fact that Owen had refereed a NFL game just one week earlier, since the Super Bowl occurs at the end of January/beginning of February, and pre-season play does not commence until August.
When Owen's slot machine drops the special gold coin, the reels are actually still spinning.
When Vera and Merrill crash into the pile of cars, the skeleton that falls on their windshield has a bolt in the top of its head.
When the lady trips on the glass and rolls down the stairs, the ankle pads she's wearing are visible.
When Vera and Merrill crash into the pile of cars, a skeleton rolls out of the back of the car in front of them. Then in the next shot the skeleton falls downward, and as it does a thin metal wire is visibly attached to the back of the skeleton, obviously used to control it.
When one of the bikers smashes the front headlight of Hitler's car, the glass smashes well before the metal pole strikes it, revealing that a small explosive was triggered to cause it.
During the final credits as the characters are crowd-surfing and singing along to "All-Star," several characters can be seen mouthing the words to the wrong part of the song.
When Blaine is on the hood of the convertible and he looks back and sees that no one is driving the car, the view hole for the person inside the seat who is actually driving the car is clearly visible.
The DVD tells that a stunt driver was driving the car when Duane grabbed the rope of the hot air balloon. The driver is visible through the plastic window made in the seat. Also, the seat sits out further than the passenger seat.
When Duane is hanging on the rope, going through the cow pasture, when he hits the second cow a person's hand is clearly visible in the bottom left corner of the screen.
As Nick puts his coin into the machine to gamble, the crewmember's arm is visibly pushing equipment along--reflected in the golden edges of the casino machines.
When the rocket car zooms past the repairman's garage and it collapses, a wire visibly runs across the outside of the garage, from above the window to behind the petrol pump, and a white cable is trailed across the road to the left of the garage--things that were clearly not there in an earlier shot.
In reality, Silver City no longer has a train station. The movie was not filmed in Silver City, but in other parts of New Mexico.
There is no high-speed train anywhere in the southwestern United States. Furthermore, the train shown has no overhead power supply and does not create any are turbulence--both impossible.
Single-deck AMTRAK trains and Acela locomotives do not run through Arizona or New Mexico.
Since the cabbie took Owen's pants and shoes when he left him in the desert and he soon used his dress shirt for foot coverings and wasn't shown to be clutching onto anything, it's unlikely he would still have his Silver City locker key.
When the map tracking the race participants first appears, there is a legend for each participant. It lists "Pear Family" before anyone knows that the entire Pear family would go with Randy Pear. Randy tries to leave his family behind in Las Vegas.
When Blaine is getting Duane to put the money in the bag, at one point he's visibly trying to keep from laughing. On the DVD there is a 6-minute long outtake where they both keep laughing on this take.
When the Squirrel Lady gives Vera and Merrill directions, she says, "Go 5.4 miles and you'll see a yellow sign with some graffiti on it...". When they see the sign, Merrill says, "We're at 2.4 miles exactly!" which is incorrect.
Donald Sinclair tells the racers that Silver City, New Mexico is 563 miles from the start point, the Venetian Hotel. When Owen is talking to Gus the Cabbie, he says that it is "about 700 miles".
In the beginning, Donald Sinclair says that when they enter the train station the lockers will be to their right. When Enrico enters, the lockers are definitely to the left.
