This film shows actual footage of the first Wrigley Ocean Marathon that began on January 15, 1927 on Santa Catalina Island. It was won by a 17 year-old Canadian named George Young, who received the $25,000 prize ($352,000 in 2017). He was the only one of 102 competitors to finish the 22 mile race.
