Thinking after I watched it, from a whu user

Warning: Spoilers
Today I watched the movie 'Yesenia' with my parents who had seen it long before, however, still willing to review it. They said it was ever one of their favorite movies for both the love story between Yesenia and Osvaldo, and the good ending of it. Before I watched it, I only knew that Yesenia was a 1971 Mexican film directed by Alfredo B.Crevenna based on an original story, which, to be accurate, was a romantic love story. However, I was totally attracted by its complicated plots used to tell a story full of twists and turns when I was watching it. It refers the theme about equality, love, freedom and innocence. It happened in a town of Mexico in late 1890s. The heroine, Yesenia had grown up among gypsies but her mother was white. She was young, beautiful and pure, just like a rose blooming in profusion. Although brought up in the clan, she was not obliged to set path in life, marrying a local gypsy introduced by parents. Yesenia was eager to seek for love and happiness on her own. During a caravan trip she met Osvaldo who was enrolled in the militia, they both fell in love despite their differences and social prejudices. Heart-stricken, I still remembered the loyal tone in which Osvaldo said that he had been waiting for three days, replying to Yesenia who was blaming for his long absence. How romantic it was! As the play progressed, there came many obstacles separating them from each other. The love of a soldier, disappointment and other misunderstandings revealed the hidden truth, that Yesenia was white rather than a gypsy. Luckily, there were many good and kind people who helped them out, loving grandmother, innocent sister, Luisa and etc. At last, with the rising of music for wedding, Yesenia got married to Osvaldo, wearing Luisa's wedding gown. Besides complicated plots, its well-expressed theme in romantic style is another highlight. Discrimination by the color and blood gets stuck when the beautiful and well-educated gypsy brought up by gypsies turns out to be white. Truth are revealed that feudalism and destiny can't stop love when Yesenia and Osvaldo get married. To tell the truth, the role I like most is Luisa for I was deeply moved by her innocence and kindness. Besides, the movie ' Yesenia' reminds me of another romantic movie 'Notting Hill', which left a deep impression on me. The movie is a romantic comedy, directed by Roger Mitchell. It tells the story of how the rich and famous American film star Anna Scott meets the attractive but poor English bookshop owner William Thacker. They fall in love with each other, but their relationship is complicated by several facts including her fame and her American boyfriend. In the end, however, they overcome these obstacles and give their love a chance. From my parents' point of view, those who seek for freedom and true love with heart, taking it into enforcement, deserves a happy ending. So they even say they are not tired of watching Yesenia for a third time.
