Reindeer Rumba found -- episode been renamed
meashurst17 December 2001
This is a good Christmas short in classic Goofy style. If you remember the Reindeer Rumba this is the one. It now resides as a special "Goof Troop" episode on Toon Disney called "Have Yourself a Goofy Little Christmas" which Disney Online found for me. Big-hearted Goofy tries to go all out to give Max a great Christmas but as usual catastrophe follows Goofy's intentions. Excellent Christmas message of Family, Friends and Love conveyed.

Not perfect for the holidays sadly

Warning: Spoilers
"Goof Troop Christmas" is a 24-minute holiday special from 1992, so this one is already over 25 years old and this one was directed by Jymn Magon. The title makes very clear already that it is about the series "Goof Troop" and brings back the key characters from said show for this one here, namely Goofy and Max, plus the neighbors who are some sort of friendly antagonists, well lats say Pete is at least, the rest not so much, with his seemingly perfect life and huge ego. I will not go too much into detail about the action. It is pretty generic for a holiday special, nothing too great or too bad. But honestly, overall I struggled with the concept as a whole, perhaps for subjective reasons because I prefer Goofy without everybody else in these very old cartoons, especially without Max, who is a character that never really did anything for me at all I must admit. Luckily, the other guys make it a bit better. But still, I never felt it was a really funny watch to be honest. And the emotional message towards the end falls flat too. Music is so-so at best also, the rendition of "Silent Night" is okay and the last shot with them being united with the bear even is fine too I suppose, but this cannot make me forget about all the mediocrities before that I must say. So only watch this if you have seen a great deal of "Goof Troop" and truly enjoyed it. And also I would not watch it during any other time of the year than the holidays, or at least when there is snow outside. It is an okay movie, no denying, there are 2 or 3 fine moments, but even for under 30 minutes, it just isn't enough overall. Too much hullaballoo for my taste and not enough quality in terms of either comedy, emotion or story-telling. Skip it.
